Anybody with espn insider?

Why does ESPN make you pay to read half their articles...it's ridiculous. Anyways, does anyone have insider, Mel kiper had his four round prediction of what each team will do and I was curious as to what he says about the panthers.

Also, isn't it crazy how different people view different prospects? NFL.com has Desmond briscoe listed as the number 3 WR prospect...ahead of demaryius Thomas, golden Tate, and Damian Williams. Most other websites have him listed as a 5-6 round prospect at best.

Carolina Panthers

Top needs: WR, DT, LB, DE, QB

First round: No first-round picks

Second-round (48): DL Tyson Alualu

Third-round (78): QB Dan LeFevour

Fourth-round (112): TE Garrett Graham

Summary: I don't want to bring up again why the Panthers aren't drafting until Round 2 ... anyway. What I like about Alualu is the versatility. He can be a penetrating tackle in a 4-3 scheme (a 5-technique), or become a 3-4 defensive end. He sheds blocks well and gets into the backfield with regularity. LeFevour is a quarterback who I think will need work in dealing with the small windows and timing of the NFL, but he has the athleticism and the arm. He's a guy worth developing. Graham caught a lot of passes at Wisconsin.

No way the Panther ignore WR. Poor job by Mel.

I actually wouldn't be shocked if we didn't address WR till round 6. I know sounds crazy; but a couple of years ago, everyone knew we needed safety help; and we didn't look at safety till like round 5 or 6.

If some guys that Hurney and Fox like get picked early; they'll pick someone who's higher on their board. Regardless of position.

Wasn't it just a couple of seasons ago that defensive tackle was easily the biggest weak spot on the team and we didn't select one until the 6th round and Nick Hayden?

It wouldn't surprise me one iota if we don't go WR in the 2nd and it shouldn't surprise anybody that's been following this team for a long time either.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
