Congrats, he went from Randy Fasani to Kyle Allen. He is doing better but he still isn't good. As long as he is progressing week to week, I'm happy for him, but keep in mind he has a long fuging way to go to be considered good.

Hes improving for sure but we absolutely have to be real about what we are seeing and stop being so dramatic.  But any rational person will see the benching has helped him.   Whats his ceiling?  I have my doubts but his floor is nfl back up.

Passing is down across the league.

The Seahawks who lead the league in passing yardage are throwing ~270YPG.

Josh Allen who is the likely MVP is throwing for ~230YPG.  

Stroud - ~245YPG.

Your argument isn't strong even if you just look at YPG, which is foolish way to evaluate QB play.   (Kirk cousins.......)

TDs, sure.  Bryce and the Panthers need to score more on their redzone possessions. Currently his most glaring weakness, even in his resurgence.

 

 If you have watched the last several Panthers games and don't even think he is a "good" QB, you are lying to yourself.    He needs to continue this play to show it wasn't a flash in the pan but his play during the last several weeks has been GOOD at a minimum.

All this time the majority consensus on the boards is that we've wanted to see flashes, the ability to throw deep, to pass the eye test, to look competent and composed against tough competition, to be able to make this team competitive...all qualitative metrics.  "Stats can lie" is a sentiment I've seen posted quite a bit in here...but all of a sudden some of you have become devout statisticians who just copy/paste box scores.

Like come on guys...moving the goalposts isn't new here, but this thread was from two and a half weeks ago.  Most of what was laid out in there, is unfolding before our eyes.  Production is obviously important and will need to improve before we can reasonably anoint Bryce our franchise QB; but as long as Bryce continues developing and gaining confidence, the production should come.  Especially if our receivers can develop their skillsets and confidence alongside him.

I don't expect this trend of passing yardage being down to hold.

Going back to 2020 before this season every other season before had no less than 8-10 QB's with over 4k passing yards.

The league has highs and lows and ups and downs but things always level back out.

Even just this past weekend there were 7 QB's with over 300 passing yards.

Make no mistake if we want to be competitive with staying power for any significant amount of time consecutively in the future we will still need a QB who has the capacity to sling it up and down the field.

There's still time for that to play out.  He's not due for an extension this year.  He'll get to play next year.  We'll have more information after year 3 with more roster improvements, and Canales with a year of experience under his belt etc.  If Canales and Morgan are the real deal, they'll make the right decision when that time comes.

That's fair.

But as of now, it is what is is.  It's the environment that he is operating in and doing so successfully.

I think he's shown he has potential to be the guy.  Not that he is yet.

But he's still 23 years old.  Lots of room for growth.   I like where he is headed.

 

And another poster earlier nailed this:  "Bryce has displayed immeasurable mental toughness to come back from his career start to this point".    He ain't wrong.  He was the laughing stock of the NFL 2 months ago.

Bullshirt--here is why.  Look again at your stats--lets go first five games and last five games. 

First four games 300 yards

Last six games 1273 yards

Cherry pick stats much? 

Secondly, he is throwing the ball downfield to do this--before he was checking it down.

      Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?

      Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
