Does Bryce deserve another start?

It's a throw away year so might as well start him. People keep saying "his trade value before the deadline" but from what I was told by huddle armchair experts is he can't be traded this year due to the cap hit so no reason even hoping to trade him by the deadline and best case scenario is trade him by the off-season

Deserve? Tough word. Nobody "deserves" anything in the NFL.

Bryce still showed the same flaws he's shown his entire career. His physical limitations are what they are. The two point conversion, he drifted back and to the right causing the sack because he's 9 yards behind where the pocket should be.

The big 3rd down conversion over the middle to XL was a duck with no zip on it. The 3rd down play XL got hurt on was late and had no zip. Gave the defender time to get him behind the line of scrimmage.

That said I will credit him for making the deep throws today. That pass off David Moore was about as perfect as perfect can be, as was the sideline strike to XL. They ended up being 0-2 with a pick in the stat book but those were winning plays right there. More of that. Good things happen when we push the ball deep. It's no coincidence that the running game picked up in the 2nd half when we started pushing the ball.

The game as a whole was a C+ for him.

We win this one going away with Andy imo and Dalton is still going to give us a far better look at evaluating our receivers because of his arm talent but I think if the team isn't in danger of revolting like they were week 2, you put Bryce out there in Germany.

I still don’t think he’s the answer but this was the first time in a while that my son and I enjoyed watching the game.

Amazingly, I also thought that had we lost, I wouldn’t have blamed Young at all. He should have had another TD that Moore when Moore dropped a perfect ball and XL letting the CB steal the ball for an interception is inexcusable.

I’d let him start again because I thought he actually played well and the Giants are on NO’s level. I still don’t think Young can get this team to a playoff level but sucky teams without CBs, he looked decent. Still need a replacement at QB.

He played better today than he has in a long time, maybe ever. He still has issues of running into pressure and at times refuses to push the ball downfield but at least he showed accuracy today that hasn't been there earlier this year

I think he got lucky with a couple of throws. It's like the lottery, you can't win if you don't play. I saw it work for Russell Wilson - due to his receivers, mostly.

He needed to go downfield his first game in the league. And finally he threw caution to the wind and did it. I don't think that I think he can thrive doing that but it is the only hope there is. A winning team, week in week out, has to have the real threat of a big play downfield.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
