Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol

Or we could just play the season out trying to do the best you can(same as most of those teams) and then let the FO worry about the fuging draft. You know....like all NFL teams do.

Did you see the Browns stadium last night? The riots that happened when they beat the Steelers because everyone wanted to tank so badly?

Oh....that didn't happen at all. Imagine that!

The Browns would beat the Panthers 34-13. They have their qb and enough talent surrounding we don't. Different expectations.

I just can't see New England passing on Tmac especially when they have been searching for a #1 WR for years.

I think push comes to shove, if they can't sign a top LT in free agency, that's the route they'll end up going

Yes they need WRs, but they also need to protect their young franchise QB, and with a HC who was a defensive player, I think he'd want to build that OL for his QB before finding him a WR if it's one or the other.

If they are able to sign a top OT at the start of free agency, that would certainly change things, but if not, I'd be shocked if they don't go that way with their first pick.

For a team like that, going OL in the 1st and WR in the 2nd makes WAY more sense than the other way around.  And again on them having a defensive player as a HC, if they don't go OL, I think defense would be next in line as a defensive minded HC probably doesn't want his first two 1st round picks to be offensive guys anyways.

I expect us to move up to 6 this weekend. Our strength of schedule is pretty weak compared to some of the other 3 win teams. I mean I’d love to win this weekend I just assume it won’t happen.

I put it out there earlier in this thread, the teams ahead of us in the draft had a lot of games against each other while our only realistic winnable game left (outside of an unexpected upset) is Dallas.

The Titans and Jags still have to play each other twice for example too.

Cleveland winning last night was huge, especially as they have a tougher schedule than us, so if we both now lose out, we'll get the higher pick due to the easier SOS.

We will see. I still hope we end up in the top 4 when all is said and done.

I'm fine with Sanders/Hunter/Tmac/Ward anyone else would be a letdown for me.

I'm still not touching Hunter

He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why.

He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
