Why Is It I Have To Scour Teh Interwebz For Panther Draft News?

I have to say it. The local media has been horrid, I mean absolutely horrid on covering the draft this year. None of the papers have been looking at prospects, discussing strategies, making mocks or even looking in depth at team needs. Here we are less than a week a way from the draft and not even any of the blogs have anything posted within a long while.

Gantt used to be decent at bringing things up for discussion, (he brought up the possibility of us trading this year's 1st multiple times last year) but it looks as if the Observer brought him on staff just to shut him up.

Do they have a Draft gag order or something?

Yeah its terrible..especially the draft coverage..

We only have one real beat writer..its like a huge monopoly with the panthers :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:

It is because we don't have a loudmouth GM like Mike Holmgren talking about moving up to get a QB. It's because the talking heads ( Kiper and McShay) have NO clue what we are gonna do and we don't have a 1st round pick. Like most Panther fans i am used to a slow off-season. I am guilty of getting my draft fix from my first team the hapless Lions. With the Millen Era over it is pretty exciting that they may field a competitive team before the world ends in 2012. LOL.

      He threw for 199 and 198 against Miami and the Cowboys so he didn't get them into that situation in those games. More importantly, Miami, the Cowboys and the Packers threw for 261, 256 and 273 yards respectivly - all more than Young. And yet they all lost. High passing yardage does not equate to wins.

      Fair point, honestly didn't even realize he was listed as questionable as well, could still be for both of them in case either isn't able to go tomorrow. That Canales said something like "we'll check him out tomorrow to make sure he's able to go" still makes me think they were still expecting him to play, as that would be a weird way to phrase it if they felt he was more likely to not be playing. Still just hoping it would be like when a player feels something in a game, gets checked out, but goes back in.  And since it was just practice, once he felt anything, they just shut him down for the day to be safe.
