It wouldn't be understandable. These aren't HS kids, these are professional football players. It is the same reason a guy like Josh McDaniels fails everywhere. You can't be an asshole to your players, they will stop playing for you.

The race for the bottom has been tight all season. There are about 8-10 teams pretty close.

I disagree, but it could be my military background. Anyone who trashed the chain of command publicly got called out no matter the age.

Back when I was young, NFL coaches and military sergeants had a lot in common. These days, not so much.

A lot's changed.

You can't treat highly paid professional athletes like children. It almost never works.

You can't, but it happens in damn near every sport so you actually can.

Disrespect happens in every workplace bro it doesn't matter the pay. That's why I started my own business because I hated people telling me when to clock in and clock out. That crap will motivate you to do better in life when another man disrespects you in front of a bunch of people.

It's why we hearing Jones is trying to land on a contender. He was disrespected and he wants a chance to prove himself again on a better roster.

What Daboll did was wrong, but it happens so I can't get mad at him when this happens at every workplace.

I have been involved with many Fortune 500 corporate workplaces, whether it be there or elsewhere, the bully boss almost always inevitably fails.

Because as soon as things go south, every single one of those people is going to stick them.

That's what you are seeing them do to Daboll.

I'm not saying what he is doing is right, I'm saying it happens in the workplace. It doesn't matter if it's a corporate workplace or a factory workplace. Disrespect happens all the time with people who have power. I been embarrassed on the workplace plenty of times.

It's why I wasn't defending Jones. When you don't do your job your boss will embarrass you in front of everyone. Play/Work like trash get treated like trash. Most of the time they just fire you after you worked a full shift lol. My goodness I'm getting flashbacks. So glad I don't have to answer to anyone anymore. Those days were stressful.

Glengarry Glen Ross type speeches aren't so popular anymore.

I had a manager some years back who made a point of saying things like "excuses don't explain and explanations don't excuse" all the time. She liked to push people to the edge

Lotta people laughed and high fived when she got fired.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
