I also see this as good for Moore. As its his job as starter to lose, having a young guy chomping at the bit and on his heels from day one, he will have to get that Fox work ethic that hes reportedly been missing in order to keep his starting job for long. This move has the potential of turning Moore into a franchise quarterback imo.

steve smith just punched john fox in the nose. man ... if this board hadn't given all of us an opportunity to cool off .... i'd have said something i regretted. how do you not go wide receiver? unbelievable. hope fox and hurney have fun at their next jobs 'cause they are done. going for depth over a starting need? pffffffffffft. pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft. pfffffffffffft. everyone in the nfc south is laughing their fat round **** off at us.

Im not gonna lie, I like the pick. Clausen has the skill to beat out Matt Moore for the job. Moore needs to step up and that should make him a better QB. However you look at it, we have two young QB and dont have to think about that position for awhile.

Always can trade one as well. Look what Matt Schaub got the Falcons in return.

We have everything a young QB could want. Great young oline, good running game and one of the best WR. Moore or Clausen can lead this team to a Super Bowl, i truely believe that.

Yo, is that you CSOL? I agree with you.

A waste.

We could've easily solved all (well, offensively) our problems signing a veteran QB behind Moore, while getting a top WR in the draft to help Smith.

But no. Now we have two relatively young, inexperienced QBs competing for the spot this season, while one of the best receivers in the NFL will continue to get double and triple covered.

Now, we could still get a valuable WR in the third. Who knows. Though I think it'll be wasted on a d-lineman.

Clausen is a good pick, but we already had a good qb. i guess theyre hoping Clausen is a GREAT qb. maybe a great qb can do alot more with this offense such as integrate Jarrett, assuming he doesnt suck again this year, Kenny Moore, maybe some goodson in the slot and gary barnidge and we already know what steve smith can do and now we focus defense? DT? another pass rusher opposite Brown?

    • Especially with no other major sports in the area other than UNCW basketball and soccer. It's a good 2 1/2 hour drive just to catch a collegiate football game. If this new arena were built I would hope it also includes an Adult League - I would join up and time allowing would be more than happy to help coach some youth teams. 😄
    • That was real fear in his eyes when the rope was being taken. My younger days, I had my best friend that happened to be black come over all the time. I had the nicest bulldog on the planet, my friend Damon was scared to death of him. His grandmother and daddy taught him to fear all dawgs and seen the same fear in his face and voice.    I think alllll young kids should take swimming lessons and not fear the water. Very thankful my parents did this, I no longer get in the ocean since its 50% sewage. But I enjoyed all the lakes, pools, and oceans I swam in.
    • My personal opinion is the non-guaranteed contract is the main reason for NFL success. MLB and NBA players are on cruise control after their big contracts and it shows in the product.  NFL is each year you are fighting for your job. Same for the majority of the public.... You get lazy or try to coast after the 100+ million contract, your ass will be cut within 1-2 years. Then the next one will not even touch 100 million+. Besides a few NBA players like Kobe was coming for blood with a 300 million contract or 1 doll hair deal. Brandy Beal just reached a buyout where he was getting 110 million, many other cases..... I dare say his name for the hornets guy..... MLB sooo many times as well.    If the NFL starts fully guaranteeing all contracts, Id have a new hobby to fill the hours of entertainment NFL gave me.
