Well Sam Darnold made the Vikings decision a lot easier lol

They gotta be pissed. Not just because they lost and never had a chance to compete but because now tagging him to trade him would be a huge risk. You might get stuck with him in the tag. They might have to let him walk for a comp pick now.

I think its basically a certainty.  He'll end up on someone's bench again next year.  Time is a flat circle.

Watching the game sam darnold played horribly reminded me of his panthers games holding the ball forever and missing open throws.  The 4th and 2 they went for and he just held the ball and took an 8 yard sack was inexcusable pretty sure his viking days are done.  Also if rhe rams go win the superbowl the la fires gives the nfl a story to go with them

That’s always been Darnold’s weakness. He doesn’t take a checkdown for 5 yards, because of the minute chance he could get 30 yards. So he holds onto the ball and it bit him big-time against a defense that wouldn’t allow anything.

So, @frankw, since we’ve apparently decided it’s cool to quote me all the time, here’s one back for ya:

If you’re this upset over me pointing out your “bust” takes in 2021 over Darnold weeks ago, somehow attributing that to me being a Darnold fan despite three weeks of my proving to you the purpose and result of such an exercise…

You’d take Bryce Young over Justin Herbert then, right? Because Justin Herbert put up big numbers in the regular season and folded historically in the Wild Card round. Since, @frankw, that apparently makes a player trash — or, at least worthy of quoting me every negative play — @frankw, tell us you’d rather have Bryce Young than Justin Herbert. Because that’s following the logic you’ve applied to this discussion, @frankw.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
