Trade a QB please...PLEASE! Its Cleveland all over again.

My computer is stupid so I couldn't post this back during the draft, and almost two weeks later I still don't get it. I like the Pike pick. Moore needs someone to back him up. Thats cool, but why Jimmy Clauson in the 2nd round? Is Moore not the guy? Either way we wasted a pick that could have and should have been Shipley, and of course he was the very next pick. to the point of the thread, remember a few years when Derek Anderson was a Pro Bowl QB and the Browns didn't really know what to do about their QB situation? Then this year happened and it turned out neither one was that great. Here we have 3...really 2 QBs that think they should be starting. Clauson and Moore could turn out to be the next Quinn and Anderson, so just trade one (Clauson) and have Pike back up Moore (or Vice Versa)

2 cents.

i sort of see where your going with this, but no way do we trade clausen, who we just picked a couple of weeks ago. that doesnt happen. but i do understand that we might go down the same path as the browns. but we also could go down the path of the chargers and have a brees and rivers thing. with as cheap as we got jimmy and i believe we dont have matt signed past next year and he is cheap. it wont be as bad as the browns who dumped alot of money and a 1st rounder into brady and i think derick anderson had signed a long term deal that year as well. so if that happens to us it will cost us less and we will have done it with only a 2nd round pick. you have to atleast see what they can do, you cant just chicken out and look for a softspot to lay down( trade them away) you might need a beer otr something, i think you are a little confused as to what the panthers have now ( so am i) because we have never had this situation and we dont know how to act.. that is why i stay shitfaced most of the time...lol.

Could you please wait until we actually start losing before jumping to conclusions?

I mean, the season hasn't even started and already proclaiming that we have the same situation as Cleveland?

Furthermore, the Clausen pick made more sense then drafting Shipley or any receiver for that matter. Why? Because we had no depth or competition at QB for Moore where as we had receivers on the team, just people easily forget them because they think they won't succeed.

The Clausen pick was all about value. Clausen was suppose to be a top 15 pick that manage to slip to the 2nd and put the Panthers in perfect position and as stated previously before the draft, the Panthers take the BPA, not what the fans want.

Honestly, I don't get why people are making such a big deal out of this pick. They make such a big deal out getting a receiver and yet even the three receivers that we drafted are not good enough for anybody. How about waiting till when they actually start playing football before predicting doom and gloom for this team.

it was the browns.

not saying I agree w/ the initital post......

but we just also happen to have the exact same QB coach that handled the guys in Cleveland.....there are several similar things going on that are kinda make your stomach uneasy. "Pro ready" Notre Dame QBs that all predict are the future, young guy w/ promise holding down the #1 gig, Rip, etc.

add on that most of the time it's alot easier to find quality wr's than it is to find decent qb's much less great ones, the problem in cleveland was that neither qb set themselves apart and their offense sucked.

too many good receivers dropped way down from where they were expected to be drafted. there was no reason to go wide receiver with the 2nd round. qb is the most important position in football. we have to find one that can carry the team. it was the right call.

Not to mention the same offensive line coach (now our offensive coordinator)

Oh isn't it a coincidence that one QB comes from Oregon State and the other comes from Notre Dame?

Yeah Yeah Yeah... Blah Blah Blah

Except here is the major difference..

We have better receivers, offensive line, and a better run game then the Browns have

again...it was the browns. chances for success are much greater here than there just because they are the browns.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
