Charlie Campbell... Mykel Williams?

Mykel is the one that concerns me. He was one of the guys mid season that I was not impressed with at all while watching UGA..he not only looked lost at times during games but just straight up disappeared. And people will tout his run defense, he’s above average but in no ways elite from what I’ve gathered.

Stewart generated consistent disruption and it’s evident on his reels you can find of snaps. He was a surprisingly fun watch for not having major sack line— but the pressure to sack conversion is a bit of a question mark.

So at #8, we better not just have our sights on a particular guy, especially these two. Have the board, see what top talent somehow falls, stick to it, trust your staff’s work. If we just lock in and reach again, it would be a disappointing trend to see in Morgan.

fair I like Stewart over Williams too

Both of these guys raise significant red flags. Mykel is extremely raw, and Georgia tends to send out these elite athletes with the assumption that they'll figure it out. As for Stewart, his production is alarmingly low. How does someone with all those traits and abilities manage to record only 1.5 sacks?

If these are the only players left I would draft back or draft Tyler Warren

And he had 1.5 sacks each of the last 3 seasons. It’s one thing to have a fluke season of a low sack rate, high pressure rate, but he struggled to get sacks every single year…Plus, if’s not like he’s getting crap coaching and resources, He’s at a top tier power 5 football school. A guy like Walter Nolan had more sacks in 1 season at a harder position to get sacks at than Shemar Stewart had in his entire career.

Can he be a stud? Yes. Do I want to the Panthers to be the team to play Roulette with him? Nah, I’m good. I’d much rather trade back, pick up an extra 2nd and pick up Landon Jackson or Prince from Ole Miss. Both guys have elite traits (not as high has Shemar) but way more production then Shemar. Best of both worlds at a cheaper price.

Check this article on Stewart out:

Sheds some light on why his stats may have suffered while highlighting what makes him a potential elite player in the NFL.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
