Most Underrated Player In the NFL

There are so many, but I actually think you can make a legitimate case for Jonathan Stewart. I think most average fans that don't watch the panthers regularly don't appreciate the entirety of this team's running game. They overestimate D-Will's significance because he's the flashy playmaking "number one" and subsequently underestimate Stewart's role in not only keeping D-Will fresh but also providing an entirely different dynamic.

Yes, but he is nowhere near the most under-estamated player in the league. I know many people who are fans from other teams that realize J-Stew and D-Lo are both Top 10 backs.

Davone Bess comes to mind.

Here is something I wrote on him on another site (fantasydc.com)

Davone Bess caught over 130 passes his first two years. This decade, only 5 wide receivers were able to accomplish that feat. They were Marques Colston, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Dwayne Bowe and Andre Johnson. Historically, only 11 other receivers have ever caught 130 passes their first 2 years. They were Al Toon, Keyshawn Johnson, Andre Rison, Torry Holt, Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison, Isaac Bruce, Sterling Sharpe, Andre Johnson, Gary Clark, Randy Moss, and Wayne Chrebet. Among these receivers, everyone except Wayne Chrebet, Marques Colston and Davone Bess were first or second round picks. Davone Bess was also the only one that started less than half the games his first two years. Davone started 8 games.

guinea pig! ( ted ginn )

Ted Ginn Jr. still kind of sucks at football. Great returner not really sure if he is an NFL receiver.

A different 49er player over their who is underrated is WR Josh Morgan.

Quinten Mikell a SS for the Philedelphia Eagles is a very underrated player.

Devin Aromashodu WR for the Bears is going to suprise a lot of people in fantasy next year.

Also Ray Rice is still somehow a bit underrated...he very well could be the number one back next year.

I doubt it, everyone says he is a top 5 back, even ahead of d-lo, which I think is bs, but rice is not underrated in any way

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
