Vick's co-defendent shot @ Vick's Bday party

Interesting news story for late June anyway. Can't provide link because 1st gen iPhone fails. Vicks lawyer saying he wasn't present but the guy that got shot turned out to be one of the guys that rolled over on MV, and he got into a confrontation with MV inside the club. If Vick was even in the vicinity, will this be the last straw that gets him kicked out of the league?

A shooting took place outside the nightclub at which Michael Vick celebrated his birthday Friday morning.

Vick doesn't appear to have been involved in or present for the shooting, so this shouldn't be a big deal for him. The shooting victim suffered non-life threatening injuries after the incident, which occurred at 2AM Friday. The shooter was described as a "black man in a white Cadillac Escalade."

Source: Associated Press

That a way to narrow it down AP.

Thanks for providing that. My phone sucks. So Vick celebrated his birthday, left before the club closed, and a guy that snitched him out to do federal time got shot? I bet there's more to the story than, "Vick wasn't present, no big deal". Just a hunch.

He pointed out the snitch and they waited til he left to do the job.....

Ding ding ding. The thing I read said that he got into a confrontation with Vick in the club. Vick was probably like, what are you doing here snitch? Vick left and guy gets shot. I'd be willing to bet a $3 McDonalds mini meal that the shooter knows Vick and this story blows up.

The dogfighting thing started as a little blurb in the news too...

So he invited the snitch to his party or coincidence?

Eh, I'm no Vick fan but let's wait until all of the details come out before we presume Vick was involved.

I don't know why you guys think it'd be uncommon for these sorts of people to get into other sorts of trouble. It's not like they lead completely pure lives, aside from all of that dog-fighting stuff that they just did every now and then to get away from the rat race.

It's not that simple.

He's legally not suppposed to be in the presence of Quannis Phillips (the shooting victim). The simple fact that he was there is going to draw the attention of the league, the team and the government.

Maybe he didn't know? Maybe that's why he left, and why someone else shot him (possibly even without Vick's order).

As I said, I'm no Vick fan at all. I just think we need to wait a bit until we assume Vick had something to do with this.

    • Yep he made the comment " I dont know what they were doing out there at that point" in the press conference. Let's be real they all got paid but they also know his system suppresses there offensive potential.
    • Yup the casuals on Facebook ive gotten 85 laughing or angry emojis so far for pointing it out.  The amount of them throwing a fit because the canes were booed is insane
    • Why are you so fixated on yards? Even if yards were a good judge of QB play, his low yardage totals in some of those games were partly a function of drops (looking at you Xavier Leggette…).  I’m not advocating that Bryce was elite for the last half of last year, but the eye test certainly supported high level QB play for large stretches. He made a lot of high difficulty, put it on the money/drop in the bucket throws. He converted on 3rd and 4th down, kept drives moving, and put the team in position to win games. And it’s not on him that the defense blew it late after he led game tying drives, Leggette dropped a game winning TD, or Chuba fumbled the ball in OT. We could have finished the season close to .500 with wins against 3 playoff teams including KC and Philly during that stretch largely due to Bryce’s play.    Has he sustained this level of play long enough to deserve an higher ranking? No. But for judging based in that stretch alone, he would. But whether he can perform more consistently at that level or build on that, and thus earns a higher ranking, remains to be seen.
