...Anybody else really not that excited (yet) about the upcoming season?

Awesomeness!!

I'm not excited at all, but that's because this has been a tough year for me, not because I think we're going 8-8.

Even more reason for you to look forward to the season. It's an escape from real life. We know/think the Panthers won't be world-beaters or probably even SB contenders, but we still see promise in them. That is why I think this year will be fun and easy to appreciate the positives they are able to show.

Since January, my sister-in-law was hit by a car and put into a coma for a month (just now regaining her memory), my grandfather got sick and will probably pass away soon, my wife and I had our first kid, my parents are having to move in with me because pops lost his job, and the Vols football program was set back probably five years. I have had a busy year too! That's why I can't wait to see Beason lay out a New York Giant, or Smitty stiff arm the heck out of some Atlanta DB.

Didn't read any of the thread just the title. But how can you call yourself a fan of this team and not be excited? I don't expect them to go to the Super Bowl but expecting them to utterly fail.....Your not a fan. Not at all. You must like the team because of the colors like my girl. Or maybe you went to school with one of the players. But you can't seriously call yourself a fan of the team and about be excited about a new season with new faces. :toetap05:

how the hell can you NOT be excited?

stew is healthy for the first time in his career. Our O-line is healthy and will likely be dominant. If double trouble runs for 1100+ yards each again, matt moore is going to look like peyton manning and we'll have a top-five offense.

i guarantee you'll be glued to the screen by the third preseason game.

Just go to a local high school in the next couple of weeks, watch some practice. Go watch Deangelo or Smitty highlights on youtube. Look at highlights of Clausen or Lafell. There's tons to be excited about. I'm just starting to get excited because I've been so busy this summer, but once preseason starts and high school jamborees kick in, I will be ready to see this team go beyond expectations of most "analysts". Whether that's just a winning record, a playoff appearance, or hell, an NFC championship, this will be a good year.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
