Carolina Panthers Close to Signing Terrell Owens????

Considering the fact that we don't have a reliable #2 receiver yet, I'd be okay with this...as long as it was a short/affordable contract. He hasn't seemed to be much of a complainer lately, except for the game he wasn't even targetted last year. He was pretty upset after that game.

I can see it happening (good/bad whatever) just like the Panthers signed Key Johnson... wouldn't have thought we would have signed him with his locker room issues, but look at what happened... right after Moose left they signed another older veteran receiver

I doubt it happens, but since Fox is in the last year of his contract I could potentially see him pushing for TO if he doesn't believe the rookies will be a huge addition this season. He needs to put together a winner this year if he wants a new contract in Carolina, or a bigger contract outside of Carolina for that matter. So I could see him potentially pushing for a one year deal for TO.

But I seriously doubt it happens.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
