Don't count Panthers out - or in - yet

(By Tom Sorensen, [email protected]) I hear and read the predictions. The Carolina Panthers will go 6-10, 9-7 or 4-12, and they should have signed Terrell Owens but didn't because they don't care about this season, anyway.p/I love predictions. If it weren't for predictions, I'd have to give up my beloved Lock of the Week, and yes, the L and the W are capitalized for a reason.

It's the uncanny ability to report and write, the innate skill it takes, the astute and Einstein-like machinations of the mind and the revelations that come forth from the Charlotte Observer and others that never cease to remind me that we pay more for toilet paper than we do for that "news"paper.

Are you freakin' kidding me? That's all you got? Thank you, teacher, may I be excused to go to the restroom now? What a waste of ink, paper and any money you got paid to write such crap.

What an asinine article. His entire point is that you can never guess how a team or player is going to perform, and then he says that Clausen "will be the best passer the Panthers have ever had."

I also found his statement that says that Clausen "will be the best passer the Panthers have ever had" to be way over the top.

He knows thos how?

He does not know. He has been told that Clausen is the future of the franchise. I remember he has said that he does talk to Richardson from time to time. I would not be surprised that Richardson is the one wanting Clausen as the starter. Probably sells more merchandise in the team store and more exposure from a national perspective.

Dude, the writing is on the wall. I am a Panther and Moore fan, but I guess I am slow to come around. Clausen will start for this team sometime this year or next regardless of what Moore does. It is disgusting and sickens me, but I cannot fight the inevitable.

    • Apparently, it's hip surgery for Pyotr... Thank God he's pretty young bc that is gonna be one hell of a rehab. Hopefully, Bussi can keep his throne warm for him until he's ready for his triumphant return.
    • The Urban and Reich seasons were epic NFL failures for completely different reasons while also linking these 2 QBs. Wasn't Reich fired earlier in the season by a game or something?  Trevor's bust to Youngs bust is interesting and obviously I would take the former 10 out of 10 times. Still, Trevor has only had 1 game over .500 in a season until this year when playing. What I am saying is that that HC is winning with what he has, which isn't perfect, and in a place that scrapping 9 games together is not a given...usually with help from  another QB along the way. And that's in the AFC South. And the Jags are actually paying their QB vs us hopefully dodging a horrendous 5th option. So that's a lot tougher than what it cost to field Young this year or next. I wasn't really trying to prop up Lawrence but Coen. Dude is doing good work and it showed when Carolina played them. The difference between him and DC is like Lawrence and Young at the minimum IMO.
