It is slow around the huddle right with practice not starting until 3, and I am gettting antsy and excited for the season to begin. I use to always sport my authentic Julius Peppers jersey around on game days, but it is time to move on and purchase a new one before the season begins. I already have a Beason jersey, but I want a new defensive player authentic and need advice. Is there a player you have a lot of faith in thats going to be here for a long time and could be a cornerstone.

some players I was thinking about were Munnerlyn, Hardy, and Norwood. I appreciate the input. And yes I just went another whole post without using the B word.

got a gamble jersey from Marshalls last year for $20, and yes its real. haven't seen one since.

i really see marshall leaving after this year. it is hard to find a good cornerback in this league and someone is sure to overpay for marshall, and truth be told he is not that great. a great tackler, but for some reason he just does not impress me.

Gamble, just because it sounds cool. But I'd get my hands on a Norwood jersey because he's going to unseat Connor at the Sam when Beast returns to the middle next season.

i was planning on getting a davis one this year in white cuz i already have a black smith. wanted a D jersey in the other color, but oh well. maybe he'll make a come back. i hope so.

The only D player that is a sure thing to be around for a while is Gamble, other than Beason obviously.

Brown, Martin, Conner, Tyler, Davis, Munnerlyn, could also be some to look into, but not as much as a sure thing.

right now i have

authentic: peppers (white), smith (black), beason (blue)

stitched: jarrett (black) what a waste of money so far

replica: deangelo (blue), stewart (black), ricky manning jr (black) loved him, peppers (blue and black), delhomme black, moore (white)

i love jersey for some reson, and i WASTE money i dont have on them. but want a new defensive player authentic, and ill prob end up with a clausen or edwards replica.

I wouldn't plunk down $300 on an authentic jersey for a rookie player, just too risky.

Having said that, I agree with Zod that out of all the young guys we have I think Dan Connor will become one of the pillars of our defense in the years to come - and the good news is that you can find an authentic Dan Morgan jersey on the cheap like I did and just have someone change the nameplate!

My 2nd choice would be Charles Johnson, I think this guy is going to break out this year. He's recorded 10 sacks over 2 seasons in VERY limited playing time. I haven't calculated the exact number, but I would bet his "snaps to sacks" percentage was even higher than Peppers over that two year period.
