Kenny Moore has been the star of TC, what are his regular season expectations?

Besides the guys you would expect to be looking great like DeAngelo and Beason, Kenny Moore has impressed the most so far.

What do you think we'll see from him when the games start to count though? Assuming he's the #2 (which you can never do knowing Fox, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jarrett as the #2), what kind of NFL player would you compare him too? When I see him practice, I see a Patrick Crayton-like guy. Looks like he has great hands, works very hard, very intelligent guy that knows exactly what he's doing out there.

smith on one side, jarrett/lafell on the other.

moore will be the WR3 at best. lafell will be on the field more just because of his blocking ability.

still not sold on moore this year but i'm warming up to the idea. i'd like to see him first hand first and then in preseason games before i come anywhere close to being comfortable with him.

Moore is more comfortable with Moore than with any other receiver out there. That will mean Moore will get plenty of playing time and throws.

Here is a pick from today. Moore seems to be tight with Kenny, talks to him frequently and seems more outgoing with him.

Kenny is one of the most likable, down to earth guys you could ever meet. Well-grounded and will outwork anyone else out there. Spent some time working out with him prior to his senior year at Wake and his work ethic was unbelievable. I have no doubt that he will be a significant contributor to the Panthers this season!

I don't think there's a chance in hell that LaFell starts, at least not early on this season. A 3rd round rookie starting at receiver right away, especially with him having a fair number of drops so far? I don't see that happening.

I think your gonna be shocked then. He will be out there for his blocking alone. LaFell will prob hold down the #2 spot.

One of the things that people don't realize about Kenny Moore is that he didn't play WR exclusively in college and had a ways to go as a WR once he made it to the NFL.

He did have enough elusiveness to play RB on an overachieving BCS bound Wake Forest team, so the talent is definitely there. He is also an honest to goodness good guy, so I hope he makes the cut and contributes to this squad. The similarities between KM and Ricky Proehl run much deeper than collegiate ties- they are both hands guys that could fill in nicely in the slot.

Ultimately, I don't think more than 3 real WRs are going to be active on game days. So that leaves Smitty, DJ, Lafell, and Kenny Moore battling out for the 3 jerseys on game days. Obviously Smitty gets one jersey. That leaves DJ, Lafell, and Moore fighting for the two remaining positions.

I liked K. Moore a lot at Wake and was excited when we picked him up. Too bad we had Smith/Moose/Jarrett in front of him so that he barely got any playing time at all. All it takes is an amazing preseason game and he'll show the coaching staff what he's got. I can't wait for preseason to start.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
