Panthers Gameday recap (interviews)

Brooklyn Bully

I thought I'd do this for you guys every Sunday this season, since a lot of you don't get to see this show. It's called Panthers Gameday and it comes on every Sunday following a 1 PM or 4 PM Panthers game after the local NBC news in the Charlotte viewing area. It's great! 30 min long, hosted by Mike Minter and Greg Bailey. It features lockeroom interviews (which are done right after the game), full highlights from different camera angles, and an interview with Fox. There is a similar show on another channel that is also good, but that comes on later in the week. I like this one because it's done the same day.

Highlights...

- Not sure if this was shown on the Fox broadcast (I didn't notice), but all the players from both teams helped hold the flag on the field in tribute to 9/11.

DeAngelo: We left a lot of plays on the field. No discredit to them, they did a great job.

Kalil: They made more plays than us. It's only Week One but we have to get better. I think we're real close.

Gamble: We have to make corrections and get ready for Tampa.

Brown: We made mistakes. You just can't make mistakes in all three phases.

- Greg Hardy sounded like he wanted more playing time.

Minter (paraphrased): They need to let it go and move on. I really liked Jarrett. Godfrey needs to work more on the Cover 2. If Clausen starts next week...RUN IT, and let ST and the D step up. If Clausen does start, he must take chances and let it rip.

Smitty: I have to clean up MY errors (being rusty).

Fox: They made more plays. We made big mistakes (botched punt, INTs). They gave us chances to come back and we didn't capitalize. Carter had back spasms, Charlie Martin is hurt (didn't say anything more).

- Connor was their Player of the Game with his 13 tackles (3 for loss) and one sack.

Until next week!

Thanks, Uptown. I've always thought they should post the full show at panthers.com or wcnc should post it on their website but they don't. Some Huddlers may find it disconcerting because Minter & Bailey try to put a positive spin on it even with a game like Sunday's and always stress the "let it go" philosophy.

panthers.com does post some of the interviews here http://www.panthers.com/media-vault/all-videos/panthers-gameday-videos.html but they don't have the new ones up yet.
