QB controversy over. Let's move on. What must we fix to give Jimmy a chance Sunday!

The controversy is far from over. If Jimmy looks bad out there, Moore might be back the next game. At this point neither of them are going to be the starter unless they look good and we get some Ws.

If they do that, then the entire coaching staff needs to be benched the week after afterwhich they all fire themselves and Richardson sells the team. Cause that would mean they truly have no clue what they are doing and playing trial and error. Any of us can do that poo.

It's going to be hard to look worse than Moore. And if Clausen is as bad as Moore then the season is over and we'd might as well let Clausen tough it out and learn the rest of the year as long as he's not getting sacked 10 times a game.

I am worried about his first start being at the Cincy defense. They have a really good secondary so it's not going to be easy. We'll know for sure by the end of the game if Jimmy can be a passer in the NFL.

Everyone wants to say we don't have receivers to help Smitty. I saw more of a QB not making a good throw for them to catch. Sure there were some drops including Smitty but I believe Clausen will make good throws and once we start completing some passing the running game will re-emerge.

Go Panthers

I don't even think it was Moore's accuracy as much as it was his inability to find the open man, especially for short gains.

Armanti Edwards promoted to backup....you heard it here first

Wait, so that means Pike is the starter now? Awesome!

Doesn't mean any of that really. It simply means that they are giving both guys a chance to win the job. If Clausen does, then he will start the next game. If he doesn't then it all open competition. If Fox took your advice to start with, he would stick with Moore. They are giving Clausen a shot but it isn't his job yet, simply his to win or lose.

I told you 6 months ago we were not going better than 6-10. And I told you that if Clausen started we were in a world of hurt. So far we are 0-2 and putting in a rookie. Unless he plays way over his head and 10 times better than he looked during preseason, I am still looking like the Amazing Kreskin.

I still hope I am wrong.

Well, Muhammad and Hoover are gone. And those two were key in the running game Carolina had last year. Those knew how to block and spring our rb's for big gains. Fiametta, I have yet to see him come close to what hoover was. This is a run first team, and if everyone on the offense isn't on that page, then the team will not succeed.

Man, the Bengals defense is gonna be a hard 1st test...I just don't feasibly see us doing well...

-Bengals has a great D right now with a great secondary

-I pray that T.O. don't score...but I see him having a "Hakeem Nicks" type game against us

-Just to add insult to injury, Shipley will play well to further piss of Carolina fans. Thus, starting threads on how we should have grabbed him instead of Armanti.

-Luckily, Cincinatti has struggled a bit on offense. I feel like we should be able to shut down their run game.

I agree. Gettis was behind Tampa's defense for a sure TD one time, but Moore just plain missed him, and the same thing happened with Rosario. I'm confortable with letting guys like Gettis and LaFell develop, along with Clausen.
