Smittys contract is up after 2012. So we have him this year (when we're not doing anything), next year (probably a lockout) and then 2012 when he's 33.

It would suckass to not have him out there with the how the rest of our WRs are doing, but could actually help us in the long run IF we got a good deal. The real problem is you're not going to get a good deal for him most likely.

Why? I actually think it would be a good idea. We are rebuilding and Smitty does deserve a chance to win a ring. I see no problem with trading him. Dont be selfish he has earned the right to be traded if he wants.

If this year goes the way it looks like it might, we are I guess officially rebuilding. Smitty is too old to go through a rebuild and wants a ring or at least another shot. He is the only player over 30 beside Grand Pa Casey. So, would you trade him for someone, or picks? What do you think his value would be. How many picks or what kind of value could we get for him and one of our backs? I hope this doesn't happen, I love Smitty and hope Pickles is the saviour and is our 2010 version of Jake when he took over for Peete that game and made magic the rest of the year. But if that don't happen, what next?

Yeah our secondary is really kicking ass on the field. Im not saying trade him now but if we suck the rest of the season he deserves a chance to go to another team and compete for a ring.
