Did Jake at least give you hope?

With Delhomme, no matter how bad we were losing I always felt that he was going to get into a gunsling and pull it out in the 4th, I never lost hope even though towards the end he would disappoint more than come through. Under the new era, the moment we are down I am pretty much convinced that Moore/Clausen do not have the intangibles to get it done and pull it out

He would give me hope if I bet against him

Jake gave hope but he also gave a tolerance of side arm crazy ass passes. We can do better. He was a very special player but we need to raise our standards a little. You can't get by with a mediocre QB anymore unless you have a top 3 defense and rushing attack. It's just so tragic in a way that his talent isn't even close to his leadership/motivation.

To be honest, every Sunday morning I felt the old Jake would come back and we would win. He did give me confidence, even until that last game where he got injured.

Now, I don't have confidence.. I just look forward to seeing Clausen develop.

Everyone remembers Jake before the injury, but that Jake is GONE. Thats why all this reminiscing is pointless. Jake doesn't play like that anymore. Everyone gets old, everyone has a point in there career where they can't do what they used to Jake's time came, and sooner some of you realize that, the better off you will be. I just don't understand why we keep going through this. no one forgets what Jake did, but the keyword is DID. He can't do it anymore. He proved it with his play of the field.
