I'm thinking they leave Brown III on the field because he was vocal about leaving the Rams due to not getting opportunities to pass rush. Robinson/Wharton I think is the run/pass down rotation with DB/BB3 being the anchor guys.

Interesting.

Brian-do not be surprised if we don't draft a DE (5 tech) at some point and and edge.  Here is how we would look:

Derrick Brown.......................Turk Wharton/Brown III..................Robinson

Ray is the most notable backup--I think this draft is strong at DE and we need to dip into it---Daniel Jeremiah said there are 24 starters at DE in this draft--so if we grabbed one to backup Brown and compete with Robinson, I would be happy.  Ray sucked last year.

I hope you are correct

Well shiite fellas! I think we have ourselves a player. Dude is dog-walking olinemen into the QB!

Very different from what we've seen from Shy. Hopefully Shy is motiviated this year because he wasn't this bad before. Never really a pass rusher, more of a run stuffer. But the way he got moved around last season was just sad.

I think they almost have to. There will be quality backup/developmental guys available after the 3rd round.

It would be like passing up on a RB in this draft. Too deep to not spend a pick on both IMO.

Clips like this help paint a better picture of how "building the team" is more firmly in the hands of D-Mo and *team management* rather than assumptions of it being driven by Tep

good point.  You don't see Mrs. Tepper in the background.  I will say, however, that the best draft pick we had under Fittermagic was made by Mrs. Rhule.  I think it was just before they took the reins back from her and drafted a long snapper.

    • I'm not too familiar with Chenal so this might be a lazy question..... Would a Chenal signing be any similar to us giving Turk a big contract? An under appreciated fringe starter in KC that teammates and front offices love and envision them taking off in a new city.
    • I LOOOOVED Nick Emmanwori in last year's draft and seeing him thrive and become an instant leader of Seattle's defense this year makes me want a similar rookie beside Moehrig.  In scanning this year's draft, I came across Zakee Wheatley from PSU. Not exactly the same build, but Senior Bowl measurements have him at a hair under 6'3" & 200lbs and runs a 4.4. His acceleration, ability to span the field and be a true center field coverage safety would allow Moehrig to float more near the LOS and play to his strengths with a worthy compliment. Wheatley is a modern day lengthy SAF and he excels in zone coverage, isn't afraid to get dirty in the run game and has a nose for the ball.  We play such a soft cover-3 scheme that having someone with speed to roam would be great. I'd especially like to see us roll Ransom out there with these two as well with Horn/Jackson to secure that backend for us. Looking like a R2 pick as of now with some saying early third. If he truly is an athletic specimen that his numbers show, I assume he will only climb higher after the combine.  https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25250463-nfl-draft-2026-scouting-report-penn-state-s-zakee-wheatley Will defnitely look to see how he does at the Sr. Bowl this weekend and in Indy next month.
    • Yeah, I can see that too. Sticky, reliable hands that does not drop a lot of balls and runs the whole route tree.
