Thought long and hard about not posting it. Eventually decided to go with it but also insert as much "disclaimer" as possible.

Heck, even I have my doubts (expressed plenty in the OP).

Yeah shame on you for dividing the fans on Clausen. If it wasn't for that one post, we would all be one big happy family. How dare you actually speculate on a message board. This is reserved for the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me zod. LOL

First off, you, panthers55, and CRA need to get your heads out of your asses. NO ONE on this board worships Clausen, NO ONE on this board thinks he's been playing lights out, and NO ONE on this board thinks he is for sure the future. What we all, minus you lunkheads, think is that he is "supposed" to be the future of this team. And if that's the case, he needs to be out there taking his lumps...which he is. Why you three can't get that is beyond me. And why you three read way too much into how we treat Jimmy is beyond me.

And sorry, if Clausen gets it going at any point in this season, you three can't hop on board. You've been banned from rooting for him as part of this team. Now, take your Matt Moore posters and wait by the curb at his driveway. Remember to bring your Sharpie.

actually, there some on here that are worshiping him. There are some claiming he is playing significantly better than he is.

I agree, he was drafted to potentially be the future. I also have posted SEVERAL times I agree with him starting and taking his lumps. What matters isn't trying to win now....

Fact is he CURRENTLY is playing poorly and isn't ready to be on the field. That is all. That should be expected though. Some people just can't handle the truth.

Wow, so your elaborate, multi-paragraph thread replies are all the result of trolling, huh?

Maybe you should get a life, pops. Take that son of yours fishing, throw the ball with him out in the yard, and teach him how to be a man. Or, just waste your time online "trolling" like a teenager would do. Actually...let your wife raise your kid instead. Unless she trolls the Oprah boards all day. Then your kid has no chance.

Edit: The worst part is, I may have to put you on Ignore. You can indeed offer good insight from time to time which rocks. But I tend to put the trolls on ignore. Oh well. Maybe you'll grow up.

Interesting how you talk about being a man and growing up and post such middle school comments. I started to post a number of remarks but in retrospect erased them. One thing I have learned which you still have to figure out is that personal attacks cheapen the person delivering them more so then the one for whom they are intended.

See you in the next Clausen thread, LOL.

do you think Clausen would be playing poorly with a better supporting cast?

Or do you think that no matter who he had around him he'd be playing poorly?

If Clausen traded places with Brees, Bree's numbers would go down quite a bit and I bet Clausens would go up quite a bit.

so my tin foil hat is starting to fit more folks about SS and what he really brings to the table when things are NOT going his way.

All I know is the "elite" Smitty never got brought down from behind like on the play he was injured.

I say he's lost 2 steps (BLASPHEMY!@@!@!!)

      Are the Panthers a "Trap Game" for the Hawks?

      The Seahawks won an emotional, divisional, overtime rivalry game vs the Rams on a Thursday night (Dec 18).  That gives them 10 days to prepare for the Panthers, but the Christmas holiday fell a week later--I bet they were afforded an extra day for travel-many coming back east.  Following the Panthers, Seattle plays at San Francisco for the division title (in all probability).   The Rams finish the season with games against the Falcons and Cardinals, two likely wins, pushing them to 13-4.  The Niners finish the season with home games against the Bears and Seahawks. Seattle finishes the season with the Panthers on the road and SF in California.   It is easy to see how preparing for the Panthers, during the holiday break and with the Niners waiting for them in SF a week later for (what could be) the NFC West title and #1 Seed in the NFC, could create the perfect trap game scenario.  The Panthers at home are 5-2.   In the past 2 weeks, the Seahawks struggled to beat the Phillip Rivers Colts in Seattle and then pulled off a miraculous, emotional victory at home vs. the Rams.  I am not convinced that they are as good as advertised. Seattle is a TD favorite in Charlotte.  I feel that Carolina by 3 may be more accurate.  While I am still not confident in this team's consistency and it never seems to dominate, it sure feels like a trap game for Seattle to me.  How could they NOT be thinking of San Francisco right now?  They are not used to being in this position (current players) and it is human nature.  Carolina 27, Seattle 24.

      It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.

      Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
