Official Peppers bitch/whine thread. And TRADE IDEAS HERE!!!!

Then Hurney should look for a new job.

If Julius Peppers ends up in a Philly uniform, playing in a Jim Johnson defense, with a Donovan McNabb offense supporting him, Marty Hurney better be fired. Unless the Eagles offer us both of their first rounders this year and a first rounder next year for J. Pep then that trade should never happen. Since they would never give that much up...I doubt he's an Eagle next year (via trade anyways...)

My reasoning is this...Is our goal every year not to compete for a Super Bowl? So why the hell would you trade one of the most dominant defensive players to a conference rival (maybe our biggest conference rival) a year after we have our best season ever? Like I said earlier...it better be a ridiculous trade offer for us to even consider trading him to the Eagles. That would have been like the Steelers trading Joey Porter to the Patriots the year that he left (only worse because we are not world champs yet and they had been for a year...)

Not to mention this is a WEEAAK draft. I don't see one prospect that would instantly help us on either side of the ball if we make a trade with Philly. That rumor should be done...

I still do not understand why some people keep referring to Peppers as "one of the most dominant defensive players in football". He has not consistently been dominant his entire career. He has flashes of brilliance that shows what he is capable of.....then he completely disappears for games at a time.

Peppers is an enigma....unbelievable talent that just does not equate to consistently dominant play.

Well put ... haven't I heard that before?

Ahhh yeah it must have been in one of the thousand other post about Peppers.

I thinks about time for another Tampa 2 thread, who's game?? :D

This thread is still going?

:(

It shouldn't be.

Anyone who has followed John Fox and Hurney over the years knows that they will not make a big investment in a new QB to their system. And when they have made a moderate investment (4th round pick Lefors, free agent David Carr), it has been a complete bust which might make them even more gun shy than before.

Personally, I still have both feelings and reasons to believe he might get rid of his agent and sign long term...

However, if he goes, you can guarantee that it will be somewhere where the odds are we won't have to see him again all that much.. most likely Miami...

Why would we worry about seeing him? He can be blocked with a TE.

Before you guys start laughing at this post.

Think about it

Gonzalez wants out of KC

Peppers wants out of NC

King is becoming a FA, plus we need a TE that other teams will actually bring up in their game plan. I mean King is a good TE but we need a TE that can threaten defenses.

We can also get their first rounder which is like the third pick.

Think about it

Why do we have to keep wasting thread space on this. Can we just have 1 thread for hypothetical's

And to add, this was brought up in another thread already. Not a good trade, imo

Thank you. There's still someone with some sense posting here.

God this poo is getting old.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
