E Brown, A Edwards, J Otah

strangely enough, some of our draft picks have been great starters, some have been busts.

...sounds almost like the draft isn't a guarantee.

Haven't all of our first rounders at least turned out pretty well? I'm probably missing someone obvious but it seems like in Fox's tenure, anyway, they've all been starters.

I was trying to remember who we picked up when we traded down. Good call.

While I think that you have a definite point, you also have to consider that we've gotten some really, really good players with some of the moves.

Not lately. We could take this all the way back to 1995 if you wanted. I think Brown, Edwards, and Otah was worth where we got them but not what we gave up.

Back to '95 wouldn't really be fair, considering Hurney hasn't been here that long.

How do you figure Otah was not worth what we gave up?

I can see a point for Brown and Edwards, but Otah??

if Otah can stay healthy......he could easily make a run at being the best RT in the NFC or NFL. It is unforunate he has been injury prone......but he worth his 1st round price when on the field.

Agreed...the guy is a monster and is the best run blocker on the team and maybe in the league. You just can't get to our RBs when he is the lead blocker and I think its pretty apparent who the most valuable player on the OL is.

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
