Not one black or blue cent

Recommended Posts

Not sure why my first post got deleted. Trying again, so someone let me know why this isn't OK if it's not.

Panthers' management set the team up for failure this season and then forced their Fans to pay more for the worst product in the league. In a nutshell, the Panthers significantly increased revenue while drastically reducing their costs (22 out of 32 teams in salary cap—profootballtalk.com). In this situation the Owner gets to pocket the proceeds and the consumers (Fans) are left feeling let down with no way to voice their frustrations since the team's management doesn't talk to their fan/customer base. Here's a way to change that......

Not One Black or Blue Cent is asking that Panther Fans boycott the concession and merchandise stands (a significant source of revenue for the team) at the stadium each and every game this season. If you have tickets your dollars are long gone, but you can make a decision to not give the team another Black or Blue Cent. If successful, the Panthers would have to take notice and realize that can’t ignore their fan base.

Now, we don’t want to negatively impact the fine community groups and organizations that work the concessions stands each game. Most of the concession workers are trying to raise money for Boy Scout troops, high school bands, etc. They get a very small percentage of the sales they generate at their stands. Instead we suggest making a direct donation to the group in their tip jars. They will come out way ahead if this happens.

not saying whether it's right or not, but I'm pretty sure that JR didn't do this in order to pocket some money from one season. He's trying to establish and build the team financially for the future & the new CBA, if he is to be believed.

JR knows that the fans aren't happy, and from the way he has reached out to some lately, I suspect he isn't happy that it "came to this" either. I do not think boycotting concession stands etc because of this "youth movement" is necessary, but feel free to do it if you wish!

Now, if next year we again do not sign any FAs, and again let some of our big contracts go, then we can start talking about him being cheap or whatever.

JMO......if fans can't support their team when it's down there's no reason for them to be around when their up.

this adage only applies when the team is trying and failing. not when it's intentionally putting out a shitty product to save money.

this is an original idea, how did you come up with this??

I know when I was in first grade and my mommy wouldn't take me to McDonalds after school I was in a bad mood all day long!!! Did I appreciate when I did get to go to McDonalds, who the *** cares I couldn't go all the time.........this sum up your logic?

do you think they did everything they could to get better?

In the long term or short term?

As fans, we are often guilty of only caring about the short term. Singing a big name receiver to a huge contract may have benefited ussome in t he short term, but would it have made the team better in the long term...?
