While I do get excited thinking about a #1 pick...I quickly remember where that 33rd overall pick wouldn't be.

I do. Fox has an ego. Don't let the fact he acts like a piece of cardboard during press conference fool you.

He cares about his resume. The at worst...7-9 aspect meant something to him.

Fox would spin it.....and he probably would have some grounds to do that. The organization started a rebuilding process and Fox simply wasn't part of that plan.

Also, ask George Seifert what a 1-15 season can do to your career. Yeah, he sucked as a coach but frankly if it wasn't for that season - he probably coasts into Canton.
