Worst Year In Panthers History

Hands down this is year/team is number 1

Its one thing to be bad when its kinda expected, just starting your franchise up. Its another to be horrible after having success... 2 years earlier you was in the divisional round of the playoffs, before that it was NFC Championship, and before that it was extremely close to a SB title. This year takes the cake no matter how we finish. Congrats JR

For whatever reason maybe because I'm subconsciously repressing my feelings this season hasn't bothered me that much.

I've enjoyed watching LaFell and Gettis play. What progress Clausen has made was satisfying to watch.

I guess that's it, I'm not happy but I'm satisfied by just watching raw football even with our asses getting stomped.

Everybody including Zod went all down in the dumps before the panthers reeled off those wins against the vikigns and giants.

I don't know if that'll happen this year though.

Not many people really expected us to be good this year. Our fans, and one or two analyst and thats about it. Most people looked at a rookie qb, and rookie wide receivers combined with losing Peppers, and said that we would compete for last. Thats before they realized Tampa would be decent.

Well I don't think it is the fact that people didn't expect us to be good...but certainly not this bad either.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
