If we pick 1st, Luck doesn't declare, who do you want?

I'd have to see what people think about Ryan Mallett. There is a lot that I have read where people have said if Luck doesn't come out then Mallett is worthy of the #1 pick. He would have been a first round pick last year if he had come out...ahead of Clausen.

Luck freaking needs to come out though. Jerry Richardson needs to walk into his apartment and tell him he'll make him the richest rookie in NFL history and hire his college coach to come with him if he'll declare.

I totally agree but if Hurney is calling the shots on draft day i will be nervous that he will pull some kind of dumb act and screw up the #1 pick in a dumb trade of some sort,or else select the wrong player.

We need a vet qb, and a lot of line help. Whether that line help comes from the draft or free agency I'm not sure yet.

If luck doesn't declare this may be the worst year ever to have the number one pick

Not necessarily. If we can pick up some quality starters in free agency (Vet QB, DT, OL) then that would free us up to be able to take Patrick Peterson or AJ Green, who both appear to be future studs.

V. Wilfork from NE is a FA after this season. Am I right? He could free up Beason/Davis.
could be. i've looked a little bit at OG, but haven't spent a whole lot of time. i just know there is a good few out there who will be available and it's a bit easier to find solid underrated performers from other teams (as if any OG is ever overrated).

i just like the idea of having someone experienced and established in there. no real need to groom someone when there is usually guys around the league that could be plugged in. of course chemistry would need to be established but i think it would be easier for a vet rather than a rookie.

It'd really suck if neither Green nor Luck came out.

Peterson is really the only other guy I'd feel comfortable taking that high.

I'd say switching down a spot or two would be the better option.

This stupid labor situation really screws us over as far as Underclassmen coming out.

Dumb greedy owners.

If Luck does not come out, then trade down with someone like the Vikings around the 10 spot.

They need WR with theirs hurt and suspect and also their CB's are aging.

Peterson or Green would fit with them.

Of course, Green could fit here, Peterson could fit here with Marshall possibly moving.

Anyway, Mallet could be had at 10 and we could use the extra picks.

DE isn't near the need that we have in other positions.

Are you sure? Because Brayton and Brown can't rush the passer, Hardy is good but had injury problems in college, leaving Johnson as our most reliable guy-and he may be best as a number two end. What's wrong with stockpiling pass rushers when we can and should adress DT in free agency? A DE is more worthy of a top two pick and is more valuable and impactful than both a corner or receiver, though I wouldn't have a problem with those picks. Bowers leads everything in sacks and TFL so its not like he doesn't produce.
