LB is the last thing I'm worried about at the moment, but the fact that there is decent talent available doesn't mean we can't take a look at someone though either.

It sucks that this isn't a banner year for DEs. Even the draft which you can usually count on to be deep with DEs is weaker than normal. Top prospect Orakpo even has been discussed to have some real question marks, playwise. And free agency, well it doesn't front too many appealing options either. (from our perspective. In the eyes of everyone else though, they are looking at Peppers with a gleam in their eye)

Are there enough good ones to make the switch to a 3-4?

:ack2:

in lieu of making another thread, i made a special write up on the possibility of moving to a 3-4 in my blog. Iz funny too.

but I did come up with some good points.

Actually Willie McGinest, Brian Scott, Ray Lewis, Eric Barton, Channing Crowder, and Terrell Suggs have all had 3-4 experience.

I don't think linebackers are what's keeping us from making the switch. I think Conner will be a solid LB, pair him up with Beason on the inside, keep davis and diggs on the outside and I think that would be fine. Our D-Line, and the fact that fox is still the coach, would be the major hindrances

F*ck 4-3 AND 3-4. With the amount of LBs on our roster and headed for FA, we could just run a 7. In addition to utilizing the talent we have on our roster, we wouldn't have to worry about hiring a D-Line coach.

I like your Idea. Who the hell needs DEs anyway. Screw em let just use LBs.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
