# 1 Draft pick status

What I don't get is this:

If we have an easier SOS than the Bengals and still suck worse than them(or the same), shouldn't we get the #1 overall?

That to me would mean we have a worse team, and need more help.

they have an easier SoS, we have a harder one.

If we beat the Cardinals, we still could beat Atlanta like we did New Orleans reserves last season. If Atlanta beats New Orleans at home, they could have home field wrapped up at 13-2. I would say that Cincinnati has the best chance of picking first. However, if they beat Cleveland at home next week, we would be the favorites.

Jake would love to spoil the Luck party. I would guess that Cincy is favored by 2-3 points next week. I hope it then turns cold for San Deigo,

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
