He gonna slip down to us since nicks has taken the spotlight from him. do it he a playmaker like smitty be a hell of punt returner & kick off returner and could take moose spot when he retires which prob wont be too much longer.

While I LOVE Brandon Tate as a prospect, I wouldn't invest more then a fourth in him. We already have Smitty Moose and DJ may have Hackett on the roster(I hope not as he seems to take away PT from DJ) and we have Robinson coming back to do return duties as well as we may bring back Jones. While he would bring a ton to the return game we already have Robinson who we invested a third 2 years ago on. Just dont see it happening IMO.

We have so many smallish receivers to choose from. While I like Tate I wouldn't invest anything more than a 5th round pick in him. I am still hoping that Ryne Robinson and D. Jarrett can be guys we can count on as well as a guy like Jason Carter. Smitty has 5 good years left in him and when the time comes we can go high in the draft to get someone.

I am a Tarheel fan, but this is a huge stretch. Tate is awesome...or was. Who knows what he'll be like after his acl blowout? I think getting Nicks would be a steal, but don't see it happening. I just hope we trade up in the 2nd round to get either DE from Utah or Cincy. Both have high motors and would thrive in Meeks' scheme (I certainly hope it's Meeks' scheme).

It would be nice to have a great punt returner again but I don't think we need to waste a pick on one this year. I'd like to see some picks on the D-line first and foremost. I wonder how Tate's status looks on the draft boards out there, I haven't looked at any yet. Maybe he won't get picked at all and we can pick him up after the draft.

Why not take Tate just to be a returner? But with that said, Brandon Tate showed this year before his injury that he can play receiver well too. He flat out was Carolina's best playmaker when he was healthy. He was the best option even with Hakeem Nicks. I think Mark Jones did well this year, but I dont think he is great. I understand the other side of the argument though with Tate coming off a very serious injury. From what I have heard he will be participating in the drills at the NFL Combine so maybe we will have a better feel for him after that. Go Heels, Go Panthers, Go Davidson Wildcats.

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
