The Next Head Coach

Mr. Scot

Might sound crazy, but what about Tom Cable? He's handled the nightmare that is the Raiders organization with class, and he's actually managed to win a few games.

Sure does sound crazy. He'd either have to get fired(which is unlikely) or we'd have to give compensation for him which is even more unlikely.

Every report I've seen says he's gonna be fired, not that anybody can really predict Al Davis. Anyway, I just think hs a better option than Russ Grimm or Mike Mularkey. I'd still rather have Harbaugh. BTW, if I'm JR, I'm taking a run at Dungy, just to see if he can be talked out of retirement.

Word is out that we'll interview Rivera.

He's a viable candidate - and satisfies the Rooney Rule - but he's been interviewed a couple of times before and hasn't gotten the job (it's been speculated that he doesn't interview well).

Results could be different this time.

Rivera is one of the few candidates where the fans are not calling for him to be fired...

Message boards of respective teams have been calling for Grimm, McDermott, and Shurmer to be fired for most of the year...nothing on Rivera

Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera, who has interviewed for nine head coach positions in the NFL over the past two years but landed none of them, will not return to Chicago.
