Harbaugh not returning our calls?

So...wait...what is Harbaugh's value as a coach without a stud QB? And if he does go to San Fran, what QB will he wind up with?

Honest question, I don't follow college football and I haven't done any research here.

Probably Newton, Mallett or Locker.

It'll be a test of how good he really is.

Well, I personally believe in every case, despite rules, that tampering and talks go on all the time that we never hear about. So, I think it's very likely that it already happened... Which would make it easy to assume if they discussed parameters at all that Harbaugh cut off conversations b/c they weren't in the same ballpark money-wise.

To further that... My source, Dpantherman, just re-tweeted a tweet (stay with me) by Joseph Person (observer writer, I think) that Hurney was spotted at the Orange Bowl last night. Easily believable for both Luck and Harbaugh.

And if you ask me, Harbaugh wasn't just in a hurry to blow off reporters for the sake of not talking to them. Also, Hurney did look a bit tired in the presser today.

I would just hope that if we've already talked, Harbaugh at least gave us a listen and we didn't insult him.

From what I've seen, you're right

“The last time we went through this, we went through the assistant ranks,” said Hurney, who declined to reveal candidates. “We got somebody that fit our organization. I think that’s very important, to find somebody that fits the philosophies of this organization and how we do things as well as the qualities of a head coach.”

Hurney was back in Charlotte on Tuesday after watching Luck throw for 287 yards and four touchdowns in Stanford’s 40-12 win over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl a night earlier.

Wonder if (as stated somewhere else on the board) that by Harbaugh going to the 9ers, that this would push Luck toward coming out and killing the "refusing to play for Carolina" theroies, as far as the Harbaugh-Luck "package deal"?

No other quarterback has ever gotten to keep his college coach when he went pro, including Luck's dad Oliver.

The Niner fans will probably bank on it, but I don't buy it happening.

It was locked and a link was put in it to another thread about Harbaugh going to the 49ers.

You confuse me when you do stuff like that, and I wish you'd stop. I just learned to use a cell phone just over a year ago. Now this?

Wow lots of speculation going on here. I think the Media is just making stuff up at this point.

I think they're also kind of covering their collective asses since some of them basically just got biatch slapped by what JR said today. And that's to be expected.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
