i'll agree with that....at least not yet. dude would have to prove something more than he has.

Ok. Now here's a question and it is by no means directly targeted at you, just in general.

If a successful winning college coach is not worth the money since he has never coached in the NFL, why are we not treating successful college players who have never played in the NFL with the same amount of skepticism?

Why?

Why is the general perception that paying Sam Bradford 50 million last year is perfectly ok, or perhaps even Luck, but paying a coach 7-8 million, crazy? I agree with the owners very strongly on this matter. This nonsense MUST STOP!

I find it interesting that some of the same folks who were saying Luck would be an idiot for staying in college rather than capitalizing on his huge prospects for a payday in the draft are the same folks who think JH is somehow wrong for capitalizing on himself while his own ticket is hot.

If it is ok for Luck to make a decision based on money...why should Harbaugh be any different? Am I the only one that sees the irony in the idea that JH can kiss our ass if he doesn't want to come play for us for small money and decided to pursue larger money in another city, yet we argue Luck should come to the draft for the money he can make?

Look I'm a huge fan of Harbs and wanted him here however, he's not worth 7-8 mil a season. He hasn't even won a Pac 10 championship. He was the benefit of a very weak Pac 10 this year. Arizona, USC and Oregon State all had down years for one reason or the other. I think he's going to be a good coach in the NFL but not BB good.....

you get as much money as you can if you have no loyalty to the situation. even then, you should still at least consider the money thrown at you.

strike while the iron is hot because there is no guarantee that it will be as hot later.

It's long overdue. And honestly every year it's apparently gotten worse, with the media and their agents participating more and more in hyping top draft prospects and driving their contract prices through the roof.

The owners have been getting screwed on this end big time, no lies or smoke and mirrors here, and so have veteran players.

I say if Luck doesn't want to declare out of the possibility of him getting a 20 million contract instead of a 50 million contract like Bradford got last year without stepping foot in the NFL, then forget him! Move on.

But again, what have these college prospects done for everyone to be ok with paying them so much? They haven't done crap either, and overall, I say more than half of them turn out to be busts and never earn their excessively overpaid contracts.

I actually think coaches are disproportionately underpaid when compared to the players, as important as their position and as they are to this game. Out of all sports, I can't think of too many sports where the coaching decisions during a game can have such a direct impact on the outcome of each play and game.
