One colossal, collective fantrum...

...is being thrown by the Panthers fanbase right now.

The main events so far this offseason:

- Owner puts out an embarrassing press conference

- Team loses (or gives away) any shot at Harbaugh

- Luck decides to stay in school

All we need now is for the announcement to come down that the Panthers have hired Greg Manusky

If that happens, Zod may as well just shoot whatever hamsters have survived the current meltdown and just give up.

this all happened in a mere 48 hours as well

At this point, a lot of fans are probably hoping for the lockout.

And to be brutally honest, after sitting through this season, and then watching the way the offseason has started out, a year without football doesn't sound so bad to me right now :(

What are the exact drafting procedures for a draft after a lockout year? I've found so many conflicting claims on what happens. Do you know Mr. Scot?

CBA mandates there is a draft before the expiring date. Thus, why we will have a 2011 Draft. However, the 2012 Draft is not clear.

Raging Bull got there before I did.. How long have we been in this "offseason"? Wow..

Er'rybody had their hearts set on this guy and we never really had him. I get he's the 'next big thing' but how are we all disappointed over something that was never ours in the first place? Its beyond our control, hurry up and wait to see whats next...

I never post on here. more of a lurker. But IMO allot of people are overreacting a bit. You dont pay an unproven NFL coach that much money making him the highest paid coach and you dont give him that much control, its just dumb.

And yes it sucks that luck is going to stay in school, but that was totally out of the panthers control. And IMO those who think hes staying because he doesnt want to come here are very wrong. If luck was as smart as everyone says he is, then he would have done his research and saw that none of the teams with top 5 picks this year are any wore than us, and we have just as much talent, maybe more than any of those teams

Im very disapointed, but with the right coach i see this teams future being very bright with or without luck

    • Neither Barkley nor even a healthy CMC would move the needle much for us. Those are guys that impact teams that already have impressive overall offenses and defenses, so they can perform the complimentary roles that make them actually valuable. We should know that specifically because CMC almost never moved the needle on bad Panthers team after bad Panthers team. Ask Giants fans about that with Saquon.
    • I would generally disagree. You see a lot more load management than previously but that is because being healthy in the playoffs is such a key factor. Different philosophies in that regard than previous generations.  Baseball really doesn't matter until at least halfway through the season. I am not gonna say they don't play hard but the physical demands are infinitesimal in the MLB in comparison to basically any other major pro sport.  People dislike all the shooting these days but that's a direct correlation with how much the overall skill level of the average NBA player has drastically risen over the past 15ish years. There are other aggravating factors, certainly, but that is the biggest one in terms of playing style differences. So many of the guys from the 80's and 90's wouldn't even be able to play in the modern NBA at all. The biggest problem the NBA has with the American market(they are the only US sport that has any real international appeal or interest, minus the NHL) is that they are so steadily corrupt and fix the systems against the small market teams. Well, you eventually lose a big chunk of the league viewership/potential viewership in the process. Take the very obviously fixed NBA draft lotteries. Superstar and upper tier star players rarely want to play for small market teams, nor can they usually afford to pay them. So how do you expect them to possibly compete in that environment?
