Ron Rivera now reportedly the leading candidate for the HC job

Josh McDaniels single handedly destroyed the Denver Broncos. Gone are Braylon Edwards and Jay Cutler.

His last 26 games with the Broncos they went 6-20. Now their future hinges on The Golden Calf of Bristol.

The 9 years before McDaniles arrived they won 85 games.

For the life of me I don't get the McDaniels ball hugging.

Just say no to the idiot boy McDaniels.

McDaniels...terrible HC....very good OC

Clements was already blocked from other teams. I don't know why people don't get that teams aren't obligated to give away their assistants.

According to Gantt, there is nothing blocking. Which, unless I'm reading it wrong, which would mean that the Packers don't have the capability to block him this year, which would probably mean his contract ends this season.

And if it's the block to the Bears that you're talking about, you do realize that was a year ago, right?

This man is correct:

The Bears faxed a formal request for permission to meet with Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements today, a day after Green Bay's season ended in overtime at Arizona, and that request was quickly denied with general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy agreeing they didn't want their quarterbacks coach calling plays for the Bears next season, a source said.

Now, would they block him again (if this is not the last year of his contract) if he wants to interview for teams outside the division? I highly doubt it.

Oh, I know that Clements was blocked from the Bears, but, that was also one year ago. The situation with us trying to reach him could be a little different.

1) His contract could've expired this year. I'm not sure, because like Mr. Scot said in another thread, no one keeps an up-to-date free agent coach database.

and 2) We aren't a Division Rival, which would probably help us if we did try to reach him.

All I'm saying is that, according to Gantt, the man is unblockable this time around. Take that for what you will.

Nothing in that article supports what you're saying. You really think the Eagles would allow McDermott to interview for our DC job? They'd block that request in about 5 minutes.

plenty of people have made lateral moves.

off the top of my head Marvin Lewis went from DC of Baltimore to DC of Washington. they just have to have clearance.

    • I am not sure it should be a ‘sell out to go to the SB’ season. And hope they don’t.  At the same time I was thinking you absolutely must find out if you want to pay for Bryce or not. That means putting it on him. No protecting and trying to hide weaknesses with the run game and a super conservative calls.  So I wish they would do it and find out, win or lose, 2026. No more developing. Time to do it. Let’s see once and for all.
    • My biggest fear with Bryce Young is that he will always do just enough to stick around. He shows flashes and then drops a turd so the hopium is always there. Like his career highlight reel if you cut it up to some hype music and did a YouTube video would actually be quite good. His great plays really, really look good. But after that video you look at his yearly averages for completion percentage, yardage, touchdowns, and virtually every other metric and it is meh as fug. Like you know Bryce is gonna be 13/23 for 157 yards a touchdown and probably a pick.  I will 100% give him his flowers for his athleticism and ability to scramble outside the pocket. I haven’t seen the mythical “super processing ability” he was touted for per se, but he has shown flashes of absolutely elite awareness when it comes to scrambling. The little basketball move he does to shake defensive linemen has almost become a signature move. It’s hard to explain but you know it when you see it he stops on a dime and pivots like he is gonna hit a step back jumper and it has gotten him out of a lot of trouble.  I sincerely, truly, as a vocal Bryce HATER, hope that since we are obviously running with him next year the coaching staff actually tailors plays around his strengths. He needs to be in a pure spread IMO. His size is much less of a hindrance when he can play QB in open space. I feel like most of his highlight reel is from scrambles and play action/bootlegs.
