Something Rivera Said/Nick Fairley

I noticed Rivera made specific mention of 'respecting the game' and of players conducting themselves in the proper way in the community. Both could be big strikes against Fairley, IMO, who has reported character issues both on and off the field.

That is what I wondered about too, but I kinda doubt it. Fairley has a rep as being dirty but I have not heard about off-the-field problems, which is more what he was getting at I think.

Im sorry I was just not impressed with Fairley and it seems he benefits from a great Dline. He was handled last night by one guy on most plays and the only time he made a play was when he was left unblocked or the QB made a mistake. What I did notice was that he cost his team a 15 yards for no reason and also had poor tackling. From what I took from the bowl game is that he is very quick, has good closing speed, but dose not tackle well, lazy on run plays, and will cost you with his attitude.

Its going to be interesting who we pick in this draft. Rivera seemed high on Smith and he acts like he is still a dominate player so maybe we wont be getting Green.

Great scouting report of Nick Fairley by Russ Lande who writes for Sporting News and was a former scout for the Browns and Rams.

I agree Fairly could be dominate but if you read anything of Russ Lande's from last year its all garbage. He had Eric Berry a 3rd round pick at best, Tony Pike the second overall ranked QB, justified Jonathan Crompton going in the first round, and the majority of the players he says were steals did not preform and the ones he said were reaches went on to be some of the best rookies. It may have just been a bad year for him, but this year isn't looking very promising either for example Julio Jones is his fifth best receiver, while Colin Kapernick and Christian Ponder are his top two quarterbacks in his super 40, which i assume is his big board.
