Pat Yasinskas opinion on what we should do with the 1st pick!

Trade down for a 1&2 if you can get it. Draft a potential (because thats what all rookies are) franchise QB and use the 2 to get a stud DT. Defense wasn't our problem this last season. Drafting Green is like putting the cart before the horse. Keep Jimmy, but have the future in hand either way.

I don't care who we draft but when you have the #1 pick you have to get the BEST player in the draft no matter what position they play. That guy has to be an instant impact player and most likely a superstar. We got it right with Peppers (should've been #1 pick but thank God the Texans were stupid) in 2002 and we need to get it right again.

Not when u don't need that player

But we will. And who doesn't need Calvin Johnson/Andre Johnson/etc. on their team? We're in a rebuilding youth movement. It's going to take a few years for this team to be consistently solid and great. I'm fine with that, though, because it beats the 12-4, 7-9 on and off seasons we're all accustomed to. Rivera's going to get this club consecutive winning records, damn it!

Stud WR this year, DT in free agency, fill some depth and other needs during the draft.

Next year take our franchise QB (whether he's from Stanford or USC), fill in other needs. By then our talent will be getting better and better.

By the third year? We should be more than ready to do really well. Smitty probably won't be around by then, but we'd have AJ Green, LaFell, and Gettis all under the age of 25 presumably.

And by then, a lot of the good players on the Saints and Falcons won't even be around :P FAREWELL ABRAHAM, GONZO, AND TURNER'S KNEES. :Angel_anim:

this is the bigger picture I'm expecting from people.. apparently, DT is the end all be all in the draft and we are going to the playoffs..

Most reporters are that way, IMO

Yeah pretty much. As a fan, you usually know more than what the average writer has to say about your team. The only people I really really listen to are Mayock, Gantt and that one old guy who writes for ESPN from time to time with the porno-stache (name escapes me lol).

i didnt say he sucks... i just said it looks like he copies and pastes Mr Scots posts and rewords them a little lol.

Even the national espn blogger knows there's only a handful of sane people on this board to poach ideas from. At least he picked a good one.

Can you imagine if he copied my posts instead of Mr. Scots? The espn panthers blogs would be a bunch of kneejerk half-witted remarks with no substance with failed attempts of insight mixed with sh*tty analogies. FML. :(
