Auburn defensive lineman Nick Fairley is ready announce whether he will return for his senior season or declare for the NFL draft.

A press conference will be held Friday at Fairley's high school in Mobile, Ala.

Fairley had a dominating junior season with 60 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 11 sacks and won the Lombardi Award for the nation's top lineman.

and what do you call our DTs?? can you even name them?

I would argue that a competent QB will be more beneficial than improved DT play in an either/or situation. I will also say that Fairley could have an immediate impact if we stay at #1, and that a QB at #1 from the pool available would help less than Fairley.

    • Names I'd keep an eye on... Coby White,  Jalen Suggs, Amen Thompson  and Stephen Castle...  3 teams except Orlando has checked on Melo before and rumblings of sours getting rid of fox too. I'd think they think Melo and Wemby would make them nuclear out west.
    • Well he somehow had 12 preseason carries for not playing. He also has 20 carries in the regular season, not three. He has actually played in about 7% of the offensive snaps for this regular season(33% of the special teams snaps). This isn't stuff you have to make up, these are very easily referenced statistics, man.
    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
