Let's say Bradford, Suh and McCoy were in this draft class....

actually a good hypothetical. knowing what we know today, i say suh. bradford has proven himself also, but suh looks like he could be one of the best tackles, well, ever. yeah yeah hyperbole, i know. suh is the type of guy that can anchor your defense for a decade. he is far more dominant at his position that bradford is at his, and i think that level of dominance makes up for the gap in importance of position (QB vs. DT) that some have mentioned.

Steelers and SD both have #1 defenses without the greatest DT ever.. or even close.

What they do have are top QBs in the league which makes them competitive..

you can make up for not having great DTs, you can't make up for not having good QBs..

there really isn't even a discussion to have on this...

what you have with great DTs, are the Vikings.. who had a top defense this year but missed the playoffs.. that's what you are looking for by choosing Suh over Bradford..

Great conversation on this and it looks like it's split pretty close to 50-50. I didn't put my answer in the original post, but I'm going with Suh. Mr. Beaux hit it on the head. Suh is arguably the most dominant at his position after 1 year and Bradford is not. Bradford could be a top 10, but Suh is a beast and the complete package. Throw in Bradford's injury history already, and it makes the pick even easier.
