Would you make this trade?

I am about to butcher a sacred cow. There are many that don't even want to think about trading Smith and Dwill. If you are of that school of thought move on. If you are like me though and want to see the Panthers continue to gain a new identity and are open to suggestions read on.

DeAngelo Williams needs to be moved. We should call up Foxxy and see what he is willing to part with. The Broncos have two 2nd round picks. They should be willing to part with one of them. I would pull the trigger on Marvin Austin in a heartbeat in the mid 2nd. The guy is a raw talent who was a 1st round prospect before the NCAA started investigating.

Then there is SMith. Sorry he is not the steady WR you need to help a developing QB. Whether you are a Jimmy Hater/ draft a QB soon or more patient like myself. Smith is poison for a young QB. A young QB needs a safety valve TE, a young corp of WR's to develop with him, time to learn and good patient coaches. We can attain all those this off season. I think the Chiefs learned in the playoffs that Bowe needs some help. Would they be willing to trade their third for Smith? I think they would.

So in the draft we would have.

1st. AJ Green WR

46th. Marvin Austin or best Corner available

65th. John Moffitt or Marcus Cannon

86th, 96th and 97th used on BPA. Sorry that six picks in the first 100 picks sounds better to me than three. We get some help in FA specifically Alex Smith, Marcedes Lewis and pair them with Green, Stewart, Gettis, Lafell and we have a all new offensive engine.

we need 2 good RBs for this system to work, goodson isnt reliable enough and dwill is a pro bowler. smith isnt a poison if you dont miss him everytime he is open, even the calmest recievers will get upset when the team is losing every week and he is getting open but the QB looks like a scared puppy in the pocket and cant get it to him. thats what i think at least

So we trade a first rounder who we developed into a great runner and trade him for a second rounder who hasn't taken 1 snap in the NFL.

And we trade Smith for a third which is where we picked him but he developed in a multi-probowl player.

Not only is that undervaluing both players after we developed them, but how many probowlers have we drafted since 2001 in the second or third rounds? One guy- Kalil??

You don't trade proven talent for possibility unless you are getting the much better deal in the process. Neither of these would be even a fair deal.

To trade DW:

sign him to a contract or tag him.

CBA must be in place or it must be for a draft pick.

His trade value is maybe a second, probably a third.

Have you seen Denver's stable of running backs? Not sure they need backs before they build line: Lawrence Maroney, Knowshon Marino, Lendale White, Corell Buckhalter, Lance Ball.

And it begins. Runningbacks have short shelf lives. Dwill is still better than over half the RB's in the league but it is time for JStew to get his time in the spotlight. He does not have to share it. He can share carries though. Goodson played with tons of heart this season. TONS. Him and Sutton deserve to get some playing time. Salary is gonna eventually catch up with us.

Now Youngpanther what is this system you speak of? Last i checked we are without a OC or half the staff. So yeah the system does not need 2 backs. If anything whatever system could easily work with Goodson, Stewart and Sutton.

Panther i understand we would have to sign and trade Dwill. Lastly blackcat to each his own. I personally would HATE the following QB options. McNabb-old and system specific. Orton- noodle armed and capt check down. Volek- come on he is a bit of a wildcard aint he? So i like Alex Smith whatever.
