Mort: Sean McDermott is a candidate as DC with Broncos/Panthers...

I wonder what Fox told McDermott about the Panthers when they talked. Or what Hurney will say about Fox as a head coach. I wonder if they will be complimentary to each other or self-serving.

I wonder if it a matter of the teams liking McDermott or Sean deciding where he wants to go and at what position and price

Fox and Elway versus Rivera and Hurney- Which one is the better opportunity and which group will be the most successful?

I wonder if Singletary is in the mix for DC as well.

I wonder if Rivera could sell them all on the possibility of building a "super staff) and whether he could manage the personalities.

i bet McDermott will have interest in speaking with Meeks to see what it was like being a DC under Fox. and i don't think he would be complimentary.

Fox (and his agent) have been mewling to anyone that will listen about how mistreated he was here, so I doubt he says/said anything supportive now.

Betting Hurney goes the complimentary "it was just time to move on" route.

Report: Panthers talking to McDermott

The Philadelphia Eagles didn't want him, but the Carolina Panthers might.

Fired by the Eagles Saturday night, former defensive coordinator Sean McDermott is lining up an interview with the Panthers according to Fox's Jay Glazer.

McDermott worked five years with new Panthers coach Ron Rivera in Philadelphia, but his once-hot prospects dimmed quickly the second half of this season.

The Panthers haven't made any announcements yet, but they're working furiously behind the scenes, in hopes of having their staff complete this week.

The NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora linked the Panthers to former San Francisco head coach Mike Singletary, though he's also talking to Minnesota. The Panthers have discussed bringing coordinator Ron Meeks back in a lesser role, likely as a secondary coach. That's the job McDermott had in Philadelphia before becoming coordinator.

We will prob. get Sean as our DC. He may have limited say in what will be going on but its worth it. He was a Jim Johnson man. And So is Ron Rivera if you remember all the tings people were saying when he had just been hired. If meeks accepts the DBs coachs position and Mike Singletary is given the LB coach job. And btw that would light a Fire in our 3 man killing crew------(Thomas,Beason,Anderson). If the stars line up just right we may be putting together a Miami Heat like Staff. ( Not the coaches but Bron,Dwade,Bosh). Just saying. With Rivera in their too. Now all we need is to get Rob Chudzinski as our OC. Hope it all happens

One more thing. Denvers D is Trash. They have one LB. Elvis Sucked as a Defensive end. He was good in a 3-4. Champ is a 50/50 if he is in denver Nxt year. They have a Below average line. I Dont understand why he would want to go to denver. Just cause Fox talks to him btw doesnt mean he is going. The way the NFL is you must look at all options.

    • Same, I expect this game to be the one where fans really riot Knowing us...  -Jalon Walker/JPJr. get at least 3 sacks -Jessie Bates gets an INT -Michael Penix throws at least 3 TD passes -XL drops at least 2 passes
    • I realize we were down 24 points when the Carolina Panthers touched the ball  for the first and only time  in the 3rd quarter...and they went on a 14 play checkdown drive taking the exact plays the Cards wanted them too and gave them overall.  and now you got folks cherry picking random plays asking how could it be garbage time if the Cards weren't in prevent on a 3rd down short yardage play or on the goal.  all you got do to is just watch the game live on repeat and not listen to the announcers.
    • Just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. I think Bryce decides who he's throwing to before the snap too often instead of reading what he sees post snap. Now alot of that is trying to influence the safety, but if the safety doesn't bite, he gets stuck and it turns into Bryce trying to make a play off schedule as the other options are gone. Cam did the same thing when Kelvin and Smitty were in the game. Bryce sees the field. He just gets a little stubborn sometimes. And that's when he gets himself into trouble. That and he doesn't trust guys to make plays on 3rd down. Instead of throwing to the open guy and letting them get the remaining 3-5 yards for the first, he'll wait until he can throw a guy to the markers. I don't think those physical limitations that keep being brought up is that real for him. Well... until he gets tackled and fumbles the ball at an alarming rate. But he has a strong enough arm, sees the field, and doesn't get injured by regular hits.
