Hired so far…

Offensive Coordinator - Rob Chudzinski (former TE Coach, Chargers)

OL Coach - John Matsko (former OL Coach, Ravens)

Defensive Coordinator - Sean McDermott (former DC, Eagles)*

Secondary Coach - Ron Meeks (former DC, Panthers)

Special teams Coach - Brian Murphy (ST Coach, Vikings)

Defensive Quality Control/Assistant Defensive Line - Sam Mills III (previous Defensive QC, Panthers)

Interviews:

QB Coach - Mike Shula (QB Coach, Jaguars)

WR Coach - Ricky Proehl (former WR, Cardinals, Rams, Panthers)

Still pending…

RB Coach

TE Coach

DL Coach

LB Coach

I have a feeling the people the team has in mind for the remaining openings are probably on playoff teams.

You've gotta think Chud will double duty with TEs as much success as he's had with them. It's such a small group that it wouldn't be that much of a stretch.

Don't know. With the Bucs letting go of Pete Mangurian, I might look there.

Info here: Bucs fire offensive line coach Mangurian despite success

(not really a headline you wanna see associated with your team) :skep:

Here's a bio from his days as a Patriots TE Coach: (link)

Plus, he's recently fired and has a last name that starts with 'M' so he should fit in neatly with our new philosophy

Reading a Ravens board most were disappointed to see Matsko go, said he was scapegoated for a lot of injuries and forced to play guys out of position.

Personally, I think he and most of the staff have been very good choices. On paper, probably the best we've ever has. We'll see how that translates to the field.

    • Names I'd keep an eye on... Coby White,  Jalen Suggs, Amen Thompson  and Stephen Castle...  3 teams except Orlando has checked on Melo before and rumblings of sours getting rid of fox too. I'd think they think Melo and Wemby would make them nuclear out west.
    • Well he somehow had 12 preseason carries for not playing. He also has 20 carries in the regular season, not three. He has actually played in about 7% of the offensive snaps for this regular season(33% of the special teams snaps). This isn't stuff you have to make up, these are very easily referenced statistics, man.
    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
