Cutler getting ripped apart by NFL players

I think the reaction has been a tad silly, especially if the doctors told him not to go. But then, fan overreaction isn't exactly a new, unique thing.

With that said, I expect a fair amount of reaction to the MRI results from both Bear Nation and the players once they're announced.

If they find a legitimate injury, Cutler will be owed a man-sized apology from a lot of people, especially his peers.

If the results are negative, what's been said so far won't be half as savage as what gets said next.

The MRI will be positive even if they arent. Honestly I think more blame needs to be put on Lovie. I think Cutler wanted back out there and was showing that he could play by standing on the sideline. But no one knows exactly went on expect those on the sidelines.

fan reaction is typical

This was the NFCCG, against a hated rival.

fans expect guys to crawl back on the field bleeding from their eyes before hanging it up.

That is NOT reality with a QB.

The more interesting part of this situation is the broken code of conduct by current and former players.

A head scratcher, but it makes me think he is very unpopular, likely because of his "whatever" attitude.

You can't question his toughness. Really, you can't if you have paid ANY attention to Bear games this year. I have never seen beatings like he took, and he just kept getting back up.

Not sure why Bears fans are so pissed about this. Its not like Jay was doing much anyway. At least Caleb got the offense alive and made a game of it.

Yeah, some might say Jay wouldn't have thrown those interceptions but Caleb had the GB D on their heels...Jay didn't.

Once GB fans come back to earth they should have a beef with the coaches and the players about their 4th quarter defense effort and game planning. WTF? Chicago's OL has improved over the season but it is still not elite and why they didn't blitz Caleb like hell I just don't get it.

I have had knee injuries as well as hamstring injuries where I could stand or even jog in straight line but any other sort of movement would result in the knee just giving out. there are lots of scenarios where he could stand but be unable to play.

If i were him i would hold a press conference after his MRI and start calling out people. Especially that idiot Deion Sanders

Jay Cutler has a MCL tear in his left knee, according to beat writer Sean Jensen.

The Bears are apparently still determining the grade of his tear. MCL injuries are not nearly as severe as ACL tears, but can still limit mobility and a quarterback's ability to plant his foot. Still, if the injury does not require surgery, Cutler is going to be even more vilified than he already is. Cutler will be hard-pressed to escape a suddenly "soft" reputation.

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
