Prepare for wild speculation (Larry Fitzgerald)

I think the Cards could look to trade Fitz and move up and pick up Green, and then gain some extra draft picks. They switch their 5th overall and a 27 year old Fitz for the guy people are projecting to be the next great thing at WR and pick up some other high picks.

You get your replacement, and then some incredibleextra ammunition, it's a pretty good strategy if you ask me.

absolutely zero chance

Fitz isn't going to go to a team with a quarterback situation like ours. Fitz is a guy who wants to shatter Jerry Rices records and go down as the best WR to ever play the game. He'll go to a team with an established passing game that will allow him to do that.

Bet you a team will only trade for him if he agrees to resign there.

Operative question would be who the cards might want at number one that they couldn't get at number five.

I doubt a pick swap by itself would be enough to net Fitzgerald, though it could be part of a larger deal.

Here's one way to look at it. It may not be realistic in terms of scenarios but it does give you an idea of the value between the 1st and 5th overall picks. Let's look at the draft value chart. The difference between the 1st and 5th pick is 1300. That difference is equivalent to:

The 10th pick (value = 1300; Washington's first round pick)

The 18th pick and the 50th pick (value = 900 + 400; San Diego's first and second round picks)

I think those scenarios would pull Fitz.
