Schefter: CBA Meeting for Today Canceled, JR Rubbing People Wrong Way

On Mike and Mike, said people are becoming leery of JR and he's rubbing people the wrong way. Suggested he may be part of the reason this meeting was canceled today could be because of JR, said he didn't want to single him out, but his name keeps coming up.

Saying it looks very bleak, especially considering they can't even get along enough to have another meeting today.

This is propaganda most likely. Each side is trying to gain an edge and get the fan support. Maybe this is true, but I highly doubt it. The owners appear to be very aligned and would never let something like this leak out.

I would like to believe this, but did you not see JR and his pie graph demonstration at his press conference?

the times for propaganda are over...its time to get a deal done unless maybe its all a show and they already know they are in it for the long haul....if thats the case why even have meetings

    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
    • Canales can never get his teams ready in the first week of the season so far. Hope that changes or Ben Johnson is going to take his azz to school.
