Jalen Ramsey

Ramsey has always been one of my favorite players in the league but I’m not sure he should be a priority for us right now.

I’m sure Evero would love to have him and he’d line him up everywhere. Nickel/Safety and outside and would provide a lot of flexibility for Evero but my worry is still our pass rush. I’m not depending on 2 rookie edge rushers and Wonnum and Pat Jones. If the Panthers are to make a big move still I’d prefer it be for Hendrickson. Ramsey would be a great addition if we had a pass rush but we don’t

2015 Panthers are a good example that anything can happen given that when Kelvin Benjamin went down nobody had us pegged as a playoff team. But we did win a lot of close games. There were also times where luck clearly went our way. But there were also other times where leaders on the team stepped up and made big time plays at crucial moments. And to be clear that was in what was IMO a much much more competitive iteration of the NFC and certainly our division. If the Panthers can't at least compete for a shot at the playoffs in these circumstances then everyone involved should be embarrassed.

Our defense was sick and we had a qb that went supernova.  Was a thing of beauty to watch in real time

Well remember the division was on the decline at that time. We won it at 7-8-1 the year before. We were the only playoff team and team above .500 in 2015.

I am not going to be upset, I just really won't understand the thought process unless he is interested in sticking around long term.

I definitely am not going to buy Super Bowl tickets if it happens, which I am assuming you are browsing just in case we do trade for him?

Oh youre just an asshole got it.  I never said I thought this team was a superbowl contender or even a player away from anything and you know it.  I was just comparing the situation which is similar even tho you can't see it.  I'm sure if the team did somehow make it to the playoffs this season, 10 years from now you will claim to have known it all along.

Based on the division from the early 2000's-2010 I would agree 2013-2015 were down years in some ways in comparison. But even that is still tougher than what we've got now.

Look I'll admit Baker Mayfield surprised me and I've always said he's had the phsyical talent but he still has to prove he can sustain the level of play he's been showing. Even there were times last year he looked like hot garbage Baker. That game against us in Charlotte he was putrid.

So don't get me wrong I'm in no way saying this division is a free ride. I'm just saying hot and cold Baker Mayfield and other unproven QB's on rosters with numerous question marks are not much of a comparison to Drew Brees/Sean Payton and Matt Ryan/Julio Jones or Tom Brady/Gronk.

I mean, I never once made the comparison to our 15-1 season culminating a Super Bowl appearance. I did say, numerous times, how completely unhinged that is. However, you doubled and tripled down on it.

Lol. All this is available to read in the thread above.

But, keep digging that booze hole deeper. It will just make a very funny aside later in the season.

So answer these two questions.  Did most media outlets have us ranked in the mid 20s prior to 2015 season? Did we go out and sign aging players anyway?  That's the only comparison I made, you came up with the rest on your own

Yeah, the NFC South is basically at a laughingstock level post-Brady/Brees.

I assume you were drunk posting yesterday, so I will give you time to read through that entire arc so you can remember.

Quote the post where I said this team is ready or one player away from making a deep playoff run.

    • All I heard was uber rides, weight trainers, and t shirts??? Maybe some meals too........ What a monster and he should be tossed in a rusty wood chipper!!!1!11!!!!!
    • This is from 5 months ago. It was one or the other. Trade for one or draft one. We apparently called the Jets about Wilson. We also talked to the Seahawks about Metcalf. Drafting our own guy was the best course of action given the required investment. Regardless now is the time for Bryce Young to produce. We are fourth amongst all teams in cap spending on the OL. Back to back first round picks at WR and multiple young TE draft picks now. Very solid and respectable backfield. New pieces across the defense. The time is now.
    • That was just the worst time to have their worst game of the season. One key deal was the broncos guess the Panthers would NOT change any plays or flow to the game. Another key point overlook that bronco defense was truly one of the best in the NFL history. It was the best defense the Panthers faced that year, by far. They were not ready for it, but broncos were ready for the Panthers. Mix in that bad luck, poor refs showcase, and this is the golden boys last game........ Panthers needed to win by 20 and the broncos defense was not going to allow that.  Panthers were the favorites and I believe they also thought that it was going to easier than them destroying NFC playoff teams as they marched to the SB. I've heard darin Gantt say the play calls were to give remmers help, but for some reason the team never did it. During the year they never had that problem, so maybe never practiced giving help via TE/RB, or WR chip. Cam was superman that year, no need for any adjustments...... Until you meet a legendary defense with studs at all levels, Think about it, Peyton was throwing wingless dunks for the whole season, the defense had to carry his corpse to the SB. That's how good they were, not many defense are able to get to the playoffs and win a SB without decent QB play. If you recall the beginning of that defense took Tim Teblows and his non-throwing arse to the playoffs couple years before. That's insane the level of defense needed to overcome.
