Yes that part is not written in stone. I think Icky will look better in Pass settings, he's finally got some young hungry players to work on his craft. 

 

I hope he has gotten meaner too, *on field*

 

Still you simply can not pay everyone top dollar, its impossible. So C or RT need to a focus on draft day and bargain bin FA shopping.

Love guys like T Mo. He’s been so consistent and done his job well for years. Need more like him to take the next step.

Contract has to be right for both sides, but it would be awesome to see him retire a Panther.

We'll see if he's emotional enough not to take that big payday from a team not named the Panthers.

He'll be alright, and so will the team. I understand the emotional aspect that arises from the business side, and that it's really about value from the FO's standpoint, but I will admit that I do have a little stress thinking about trying to replace Moton in light of O-line replacement problems of the last decade. It would be nice to see T-Mo come to a compromise. In any event, replacing players is central to the job.

Yup. I can't bank on a discount either in the modern NFL, just too rare. Just play and have fun this year IMO.

I’m a moron and read this whole thread thinking it was about Ickey and not Moton and was like wtf are all these responses lol. I like Moton but we’re gonna have to pay Ickey or a different LT so RT will have to come cheaper.

Yea, I doubt Panthers can come close to a "fair" deal. Let me check-

Morgan Moses signed a 3 year, $24,000,000 contract with the New England Patriots, including $4,200,000 signing bonus, $11,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,000,000. In 2025, Moses will earn a base salary of $2,300,000, a signing bonus of $4,200,000 and a workout bonus of $150,000, while carrying a cap hit of $4,550,000 and a dead cap value of $11,000,000.

 

Moses is older, but I don't know if Motown would take that, the other point is Id don't think the Panthers can offer this either. They have Icky and then........BY. How do you place a price on BY if he goes out in 2025 and tears up everyone...250 million?!?!?! That's means no RT too.

 

Just too many players to pay. The Panthers already paid up for OGs and invested 8th, 32, and 39 at WR. Plus tossed 4th and 5th at TE to help BY. 

Personally I feel Motown knows this is his last panther season and it means a lot to him.

I feel it does come down to Icky or Motown, you can only pay one. Im going with the younger and more valuable LT. Who knows Panthers *could* not be happy with contract negotiations with Ickys reps and Know Motown would sign for 12 million per over 4 years. Then Panthers would need to be drafting a LT instead of RT. It sucks to see. He has been rock solid for almost his entire career here.

But, the franchise has some shaky cap situations coming up, so he may be a casualty in the end.

I for one will always appreciate his time here and how much he has contributed. He will be missed.

On an off note, we may not have to pay Bryce if things don't go as planned. Barnwell isn't inking Bryce just yet:

"There might be a truly desperate team out there willing to send a first-round pick to the Panthers right now, but I suspect most would probably prefer to wait and see whether the QB from the second half of 2024 is the guy we see in 2025. We might find out what Young really fetches in a trade after this season."

 I honestly hate how each  of the past and current panther "superstars" have enough flaws to make each decisions very diffcult- Dbrown, Horn, Icky, BY, and even BB or Moore. You can make a clear case for NOT dropping  the bag and dropping the bag. There's no clear 100% easy "Y-E-S".

 

Plus Panthers have gave BY loads of help, imo too much for a #1 overall pick. Now he's going to want some burrow deal....Id don't like it....

If he leaves, hopefully he'll come back for a 1 day deal to retire a Panther.

If Moton's knee is fine and he wants to continue to play, he should be kept as a career panther. I'm sure Brant and Morgan can find a way to make the deal work in favor for both sides.
