Dan needs to churn

Fit was just Tepper's yes man and fall guy

but its hard to build a good roster when you trade away all those first and second round picks/DJ Moore for Bryce and then use the remaining draft picks on TMJ, Mingo, DJ johnson, Matt Corral

Tepper not actually parting with the entire Fitterer and Frank Reich debacle was always going to haunt us.   And basically the same folks basically just made Canales the face of the new operation

Well unfortunately there isn't much to actually churn because if we're being honest Dan hasn't exactly been great at drafting. I mean every year we look at our picks and put on our homer shades but he really isn't breaking the mold after the disaster that was Scott Fitterer. And as bad as Fitterer was it's not a good sign that even he made a better attempt at bringing in QB competition over the years than Dan did this year. Now that stings.

I wouldn't say there isn't much to churn rather that there isn't a real reason to do so outside maybe some special teams guys or priorty waivers that could make an impact.

Aside from that, it's juat business as usual. See what we have and see what we can develop.

At this point with the season closing in fast, they are what they are. A few new JAG's on the roster to replace the JAG's we already have is not going to make much impact.

JAGs would be an upgrade. 65-70 percent of this roster has no business on an NFL team

At this point it just looks like outside of a few positions our depth is just mediocre or awful. And we can't say Dan inherited this because well Dan was a willing participant lol.

And there will be some players we can pickup after roster cuts but not anything that will make a difference.

But yes I agree. Only thing to do now is see which guys on this roster go out there and compete their asses off regardless.

The last time we only scored one touchdown in preseason, 2010.

Game three better be right or we are screwed again, and Bryce is gone.

unpopular take, see what the Browns want for Shedeur. Run him as third QB for the year, see what you have with him next year. If he doesn’t work out, he doesn’t work out but if he does, you basically offset some of the cost to get Bryce.

I know it’s preseason and I’m trying not to overreact but it doesn’t look good fellas.

Hell, I was wanting us to draft Shedeur once he lasted to day three. I thought that he could add some legit competition, but it was never going to happen with us thinking so inside the box in terms of Bryce and what I call "draft position bias."

churn or burn the road up one

the talent on this roster right now is near the bottom of every list you can find outside a Panther homer that's being unreasonable & unrealistic

pressure either makes people better or they fold to the pressure one or the other but without any pressure people become complacent

Well, we knew depth was going to be bad. That was inevitable.

Yes Dan was a part of the problem but on the surface he seems to have improved the roster overall. Not sure it will really be enough to matter but I suppose we will find out.

Also not sure even if he starts to have success that he will be around to see it through.

Im going to be honest, I think its wild that players that come here some of the time go to other teams and have success (Mayfield and some others). Saying this, I think atleast 60% of our problems lies with the OC. If the plays being ran are so vanilla and easy to read, there isnt going to be a good looking player out there. Second, its still preseason but the BY that looked good at the end of last season was able to be loose and nothing to play for really. Now he is going back to I have to perform mode and could that pressure be too much for him?

It's insane to be trading for a #3 QB.

Ride this out, move on to 2026.

I mean what you would give up for a Number 3 QB is minimal. Shedeur is at minimum a second round talent on a 5th round contract. I’d like to see what Canales could do with him with no pressure to compete, or look behind him, for a year. He showed as much promise as I’d seen from Bryce up until the Falcons game last season.

That’s worth a late round flyer.

Kindly note this is never going to happen so it’s really not even worth replying to. But it’s something I’d explore as GM/Head Coach. It’s also Teppers wet dream, if he worked out. No doubt the Browns are going to fumble the situation they find themselves in.

Honestly, no. A fifth round caliber trade QB is not worth fuging with, IMO.

Just let it go if it gets to this. It didn't work out.

a really good GM trying to win a Lomardi understands he has to have a stud at Qb & a monstrous defensive Line &  a really smart head coach

& when I look at the Panthers I do not see that  I see a team more like the Eagles & Ravens etc definitely not the Panthers ...just saying
